2023 marks Agribank 's 35-year development journey with many meaningful events and activities that connect internally and the community.
The “Agribank - For a Green Future” Run is one of the meaningful highlights that attracts the active participation of a large number of Agribank officers and employees as well as customers and partners across the country. The total number of kilometers of 35,000 athletes participating in the Run has been converted by Agribank into a maximum cost of 35 billion VND in the 2023 social security budget to finance community and environmental protection activities with the message “For a Green Future”.

From the funds generated from the running steps of 35,000 athletes of the "Agribank - For a Green Future" Race, in all localities across the country, many charity houses, medical equipment, many scholarships, social insurance books, health insurance cards... have been handed over by Agribank to families in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people with no place to rely on, poor but studious students...

In order to share with patients in district hospitals who still have many difficulties in medical equipment and facilities, Agribank has donated medical equipment (electrocardiographs, patient bedside cabinets, etc.) to district, commune and town medical centers in Tuyen Quang and Quang Ngai provinces with a total value of 1.5 billion VND. In Lam Dong province, Agribank has donated more than 3,300 social insurance and health insurance books to poor households and households in difficult circumstances to help poor households overcome difficulties and continue to improve their lives.
Also in these localities, Agribank has donated 43 houses of gratitude to poor households with a total value of more than 2 billion VND. Through sponsoring the construction of houses of gratitude to help poor and disadvantaged households have stable housing, peace of mind to do business, develop production and business, Agribank hopes to contribute with local authorities to gradually complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the criteria for building new rural areas in the locality.
During the visit to Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform (April 2023), the Agribank delegation supported 1.5 billion VND for the "Greening Truong Sa" program, presenting many practical gifts close to the daily life of soldiers and people on the island (desktop computers, printers, multi-function exercise machines, rice cookers, freezers, fresh water purifiers, rechargeable fans, bicycles, necessities...) with a total cost of nearly 2 billion VND.

In August 2023, flash floods in Ho Bon commune (Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai) caused very heavy damage to people, property, houses, as well as public works and local infrastructure. Many schools in the commune were submerged under mud and rocks; many construction items collapsed and were damaged; desks, chairs, books, computers, learning equipment, kitchen equipment, blankets, etc. were submerged in water and covered in mud; many teachers and students' families had their houses swept away or severely damaged by floods. Promoting the spirit of "mutual love", Agribank donated 500 million VND to support the provision of desks, chairs, learning equipment, and helped the locality and the education sector overcome difficulties in the flood-affected areas and stabilize the situation before the new school year.
Also at the time before the new school year, in the excited atmosphere of the first day of school, in Mu Cang Chai and Van Chan districts, Agribank has sponsored 4 billion VND to build Hoa Hue Kindergarten, Mu Cang Chai and Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in Van Chan district, each project worth 2 billion VND. After completion, the projects will contribute to the locality to improve the quality of educational facilities, creating favorable conditions for teaching and learning for teachers and students in remote areas.

Wishing to support more difficult circumstances, in 2023, Agribank awarded scholarships worth nearly 2 billion VND to nearly 900 poor and studious students from all over the country. Each scholarship is a source of encouragement for students to have more spirit of overcoming difficulties and completing their studies well. In addition to the scholarships, Agribank also donated educational equipment worth 1.7 billion VND to poor districts and communes in Quang Ngai province with the desire to add to the luggage of students entering the school year with joy, excitement, enthusiasm for learning and competing.

As of mid-November 2023, from the budget of 35 billion VND converted from the successful runs of 35,000 athletes participating in the "Agribank - For a Green Future" Run, Agribank has awarded 47 gratitude houses, 850 scholarships in poor provinces across the country, 02 nursing homes, care and education for children at kindergartens, sponsored medical equipment and supported poor patients in difficult circumstances in 27 poor districts and communes across the country, and donated more than 3,000 social insurance and health insurance books to the poor in localities. From now until the end of 2023, Agribank will continue to implement many meaningful programs: giving Tet gifts to the poor, planting trees, building gratitude houses, charity shelters, schools, etc.
The humane meaning of the Community Run with the message "For a green future" does not stop at connecting nearly 40,000 Agribank officers and employees across the system, but also widely spreads humane values connecting people who love running, connecting the community to act together for good things, joining hands to protect the environment, aiming for the goal of sustainable development.

The "Agribank-For a Green Future" race is an activity in a series of events celebrating the 35th anniversary of Agribank (March 26, 1988 - March 26, 2023). This is the first race organized by Agribank, but the results achieved exceeded the expectations of the Organizing Committee with impressive numbers: 188 teams, 35,000 athletes participating with over 4,500,000 km of achievements set. In recent years, the running movement at Agribank has received attention and attracted a large number of staff, partners and customers to participate. To date, the running enthusiast community at Agribank has 100 people who have become Marathoners (people who have run Marathon), more than 300 members have completed the 21km Half Marathon, and participated in more than 50 Marathons nationwide, bringing home many high achievements. In 2022, Agribank is honored to have 6 Agribank athletes participate in the Marathon accompanying the 31st SEA Games. Throughout its 35-year development journey, affirming its position and role as the leading commercial bank in Vietnam, Agribank has always been steadfast in promoting its social responsibility to the community. From 2020 to present, Agribank is the pioneer bank in implementing the program "For a green future" to plant 1 million trees, contributing to the whole country's goal of planting 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025, implementing environmental protection activities against climate change. |
