The Director of the Son La Provincial Police Department has been promoted to the rank of Major General.

On June 2nd in Hanoi, acting on behalf of the President of Vietnam, General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security Ministry, and Minister of Public Security, presided over the ceremony to announce the President's decision on the promotion of People's Public Security officers to the rank of General.

At the ceremony, the head of the Personnel Department announced the President's decision to promote 19 comrades from Colonel to Major General, including Comrade Nguyen Minh Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of the Son La Provincial Police.

Major General Nguyen Minh Tuan, born in 1977, hails from Binh Phu commune, Phu Tho province. He holds a Master's degree in Law and has advanced political theory qualifications. He has served as Director of the Son La Provincial Police Department since April 1, 2026.
