Supervision of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management in Van Ban

Working scene.

According to the report of Van Ban district, the whole district currently has 500 drug addicts with management records. For voluntary drug addiction treatment in 2021 and 2022, Nam Chay Commune Community Drug Rehabilitation Center has treated 66 people. From January 1, 2022 to now, the facility has stopped operating due to not meeting the conditions prescribed by Decree 116, 2021 of the Government . The district has 3 points of distribution of Methadone drug addiction treatment with 416 people participating in treatment. For post-treatment management, from 2020 to now, there have been 207 people.

At the working session, members of the monitoring delegation discussed and clarified a number of issues related to the organization and implementation of drug addiction treatment methods; the management and use of Methadone for drug addicts; coordination in job training and management of post-drug addiction treatment patients, and existing difficulties.

Concluding the monitoring session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Ly Binh Minh (photo above) requested Van Ban district to continue to effectively implement drug prevention and control work, especially new drugs that pose a risk to young people; improve the effectiveness of drug addiction management work, and create jobs for people who have completed drug rehabilitation to reintegrate into the community.
