One of the biggest bottlenecks in Vietnamese education today is the heavy emphasis on formality and light on experience. Students have to study many subjects, receive a wide range of knowledge but have few opportunities to practice and be creative. The result is rote learning, coping learning, knowledge is quickly forgotten and the ability to apply it in practice is limited.
To education To get to the point, we need to boldly cut out duplicate and overlapping content, focusing on core knowledge, basic skills and self-study ability.
A streamlined program will not reduce quality, but on the contrary, help students have more time to dig deeper, learn, and develop independent thinking. More importantly, the freed time must be spent on creative experiential activities: from scientific experiments, professional internships, community projects to community service activities. These experiences not only help students "learn to know" but also "learn to do, learn to live" - that is, shifting from traditional education to creative education.
Many advanced educational systems have proven that increasing experiential activities not only nurtures curiosity, but also forms skills in cooperation, problem-solving, and social adaptation - essential competencies of 21st-century citizens.
When the classroom is connected to reality, each lesson becomes a journey of discovery , instead of exam pressure. Reducing formality and enhancing experience is not “lowering standards”, but raising standards of quality. A humane and modern education is not measured by the number of textbook pages, but by the ability to help students develop comprehensively - from knowledge to personality, from life skills to civic awareness.
Only when we get rid of the "achievement disease" and turn schools into vibrant and creative environments, can educational reform truly go into depth, meeting the aspiration of building a generation of dynamic, courageous and integrated citizens.
