Converting to growing tea trees, Mr. Sang was provided with seeds and technical support for planting and care.
Mr. Sang's family has converted the entire area of ineffective corn and rice cultivation to tea cultivation. With seeds, technical support for planting and care, Mr. Sang is quite confident that the tea hill will grow and develop well and will bring in a good income in just a few years. Mr. Hoang Chin Sang, Pac Ta 2 village, Ta Gia Khau commune, Muong Khuong district shared: "Growing corn did not develop, so I switched to growing tea. Growing tea has technical guidance, and the State also supports seedlings. Thanks to the technical guidance, growing tea has developed better than every year."
In addition to growing tea, with their farming experience, Ta Gia Khau people also intercrop with betel trees, creating shade, conserving water on the tea fields, and earning extra income. Mr. Sung Seo Thao, Lao Chai village, Ta Gia Khau commune, Muong Khuong district shared: "Before there was no water, now people in villages and hamlets are actively planting trees, conserving water. The government now supports investment in crops, especially tea trees, people are very excited."
Ta Gia Khau is gradually covering the barren hills with green, bringing hope for a more prosperous life.
Currently, Ta Gia Khau has 108 hectares of tea in the basic construction stage. The first tea fields have begun to form canopy, yield fresh buds, and cover this barren land with green hope. The timely orientation and support of the district and specialized sectors also create motivation for the locality to develop in the coming period. Mr. Le Thanh Hoa, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Muong Khuong district, said: "In the coming time, we will focus on developing tea trees in the highland communes, including two communes, Din Chin and Ta Gia Khau. We affirm that tea trees are drought-resistant and grow in drought conditions in these two communes; currently, the area has been developed over 150 hectares".
Determination to change crop structure helps the barren land of Ta Gia Khau gradually green up, so that the income and life of the people become more and more prosperous./.
