Over the next 24 hours, the northern South China Sea (including the Paracel Islands) will continue to be affected by strong northeasterly winds of force 6, with occasional gusts of force 7 in the northeast, reaching force 8-9, causing rough seas. Wave heights will generally range from 3.0-5.0m. The wind is forecast to gradually decrease on the night of December 18th.
In the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau and the western sea area of the South China Sea (including the western sea area of the Truong Sa special zone), strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8, will cause rough seas with waves 2.0-4.0m high.
Additionally, during the day and night of December 18th, the central and southern areas of the South China Sea (including the Spratly Islands) will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind, posing a danger to vessels operating at sea.
The meteorological agency warns that on December 19th, the northeastern part of the North East Sea will continue to experience strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8, with rough seas and waves 2.0-4.0m high. The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau and the western part of the South East Sea will maintain strong northeasterly winds of force 5, sometimes force 6, gusting to force 7-8, with waves 2.0-3.0m high.
