In about three weeks, the 2026 High School Graduation Exam will officially take place. These days, at many high schools throughout the province, 12th-grade students are entering the peak review period with many individual goals and aspirations.

12th-grade students at Gia Rai High School (Gia Rai Ward) are focusing on reviewing and consolidating their knowledge and test-taking skills before the high school graduation exam.

At Gia Rai High School (Gia Rai Ward), the learning atmosphere has become more intense as students have just completed their curriculum while simultaneously focusing on preparing for the high school graduation exam and university entrance exams. Each student proactively develops a suitable study plan to pursue their desired field of study.

In class 12C5, Ho Quoc Thai is one of the outstanding students. With a passion for Literature, Thai chose the Literature-History-Geography subject combination for his university entrance exams and aimed to achieve scores above 9 in each subject to become the top student in the school. Notably, thanks to winning second prize in the national Literature competition, he was directly admitted to the Literature Education program at Can Tho University. However, Thai remained vigilant and continued to diligently study all subjects.

Student Ho Quoc Thai shared: “Being admitted directly is a great joy for me and my family, but I still want to try my best in the high school graduation exam. I aim for scores above 9 in all subjects to end my student life with the best possible results.”

Instead of focusing solely on education or economics , many students today are boldly choosing careers that align with their personal passions. Trinh Han Han, a student in class 12C5 at Gia Rai High School, has chosen to pursue a career in the arts, with her first aspiration being the Acting major for theater, television, and film at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film.

Hân Hân shared: “I know this field is highly competitive, so in addition to reviewing academics, I also take the opportunity to practice my performance skills, communication skills, and confidence in front of crowds.”

Not only at Gia Rai High School, but many 12th-grade students at other high schools in the province are also striving every day to achieve their dream field of study. Nguyen Ngoc Boi Boi, a student in class 12C2 at U Minh High School (Nguyen Phich commune), said that she particularly loves and wants to pursue journalism and media studies.

Boi Boi shared: “In my opinion, journalism and communication not only require knowledge but also demand dynamism, confidence, and the ability to adapt to reality. Therefore, in addition to studying for exams, I also try to participate in many school activities to accumulate more skills for myself.”

Supporting students in shaping their future.

At Ho Thi Ky High School (An Xuyen Ward), 12th-grade students are currently focusing on exam preparation according to their aptitude groups and career orientations. Nguyen Quang Khoi, a student in class 12A7, will register for his first choice: Law at the Judicial Academy in Hanoi . Khoi said he loves the field of law because he hopes to work in a field related to protecting justice and supporting citizens. To achieve that goal, he has created a very strict study schedule, dedicating a lot of time to the subjects in the admission combination. "I try to maintain consistent daily studying, focusing on practicing exam questions and honing my presentation skills to achieve good results in the upcoming exam," Khoi shared.

Nguyen Ngoc Boi Boi dreams of pursuing a career in journalism and media after graduating from high school.

Many high schools in the province have organized career counseling activities to support students in choosing professions that suit their abilities and interests. According to Mr. Chau Van Tuy, Principal of Ho Thi Ky High School, this year students are more proactive in determining their careers and choosing universities. This is a positive sign because with clear goals, students will have better motivation to study and prepare for exams.

Teacher Chau Van Tuy said: “The school not only focuses on consolidating knowledge but also organizes many career counseling activities from the beginning of the school year, supporting students in understanding admission information, selection methods, and job market demands for each profession. This helps students make choices that suit their abilities and circumstances. The most important thing now is to help students maintain a stable mindset, build a reasonable study plan, and confidently enter the exam. The school will always be with them during this crucial period.”

Many 12th-grade students proactively develop study plans, striving to achieve their goals of getting into their desired universities.

In reality, each student has different choices and goals, but the common thread is the effort put in during the final stretch before the high school graduation exam. From dreams of becoming teachers, actors, journalists, or working in the legal field, they are striving every day to reach the doors of university and their future.

The high school graduation exam is not only a milestone marking the end of the high school journey but also the beginning of young people's career aspirations. And during these stressful days of preparation, what further motivates many students is the clear goal they are aiming for in the future.
