During the historic month of May, along with the police forces nationwide, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police solemnly celebrated the 68th anniversary of the Internal Political Security Force's Traditional Day (May 10, 1958 - May 10, 2026). This is an occasion to recall the glorious tradition and affirm the capabilities of a core force in protecting the Party, protecting the government, and maintaining political stability in the "Capital of the Thousand Winds".

Cluster No. 187 of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police (with the Internal Political Security Department as the cluster leader) organized a conference to sign an agreement to implement the "For National Security" movement in 2026.

Key developments in the new situation

Looking back over the past 68 years, since the establishment of the Agency Protection Department - the predecessor of today's Internal Political Security Force (ANCTNB) - on May 10, 1958, this force has always played the role of a "sharp sword" protecting the survival of the leadership apparatus.

In Thai Nguyen , a land with a glorious revolutionary tradition, the Internal Security Force of the Provincial Police has fully inherited that spirit, always being resourceful, courageous, and absolutely loyal. Throughout various historical periods with different names and organizational models, the core objective of the force has remained unchanged: protecting internal affairs, safeguarding the ideological foundation, and protecting state secrets.

In 2026, as the entire country is actively implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, after the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces and the implementation of a two-tiered local government model, the tasks of the Internal Political Security force of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police will become increasingly heavy and complex.

The unit has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure absolute safety for Party congresses at all levels, contributing to the security and safety of the successful organization of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, important political and social events, and ensuring absolute security for delegations of Party and State leaders visiting and working in Thai Nguyen province.

In the context of the information explosion, the Internal Security Department has played a crucial role as the Standing Committee of the Provincial Public Security Party Committee's Steering Committee 35, promptly detecting and refuting erroneous viewpoints. In particular, it has effectively prevented plots of "peaceful evolution," "self-evolution," and "self-transformation" among cadres, Party members, and students in the province.

Since the beginning of 2026 alone, the Internal Security Department has detected and investigated 12 cases involving the posting of harmful and false information on the internet. Of these, administrative penalties were imposed in 6 cases, resulting in the collection of over 40 million VND for the state budget; and 6 cases involved education, warnings, reprimands, and deterrence.

In addition, the unit ensures security in the areas, topics, and fields under its responsibility according to its functions and duties. The unit has closely coordinated with training institutions, especially the Department of Education and Training and Thai Nguyen University, to ensure absolute safety for examinations taking place in the area.

The unit also implemented a comprehensive set of operational measures in reviewing and handling violations related to diplomas, certificates, acts of exploiting social policies for personal gain, and acts of corruption and negativity. A typical case demonstrating proactive intelligence gathering is the unit's timely detection and rapid identification of HTN, born in 1972, residing in Tan Cuong commune, Thai Nguyen province. This individual committed the act of "insulting the national flag" at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium during the 2025 Four-Team Football Tournament.

Furthermore, the unit has strengthened its efforts in protecting state secrets, advising the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of communes and wards to strictly implement security regulations. Regular inspections and guidance have been carried out at key agencies, preventing any leaks or loss of state secrets in the recent past.

"Proactive security" - a guiding principle for the future.

Entering a new phase of development, and facing challenges from cyberspace and sophisticated criminal tactics, the Internal Security Force of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police has identified "Proactive Security" as its guiding principle.

Beyond simply handling incidents, the unit proactively focuses on early and proactive prevention, assigning forces to directly implement security measures at the grassroots level, promptly assessing the situation, and coordinating with and guiding the police in communes and wards in carrying out internal political security work.

Understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people and promptly advising on and resolving complaints at the grassroots level has contributed to eliminating the "seeds" of political instability.

In addition, special attention is paid to building a force that is "lean, efficient, and strong," professional, and modern. Each officer and soldier must not only be proficient in their professional skills but also possess strong political convictions, worthy of the honor of a Vietnamese People's Public Security officer.
