Over the past period, the police force in mountainous communes such as Thuong Minh, Cao Minh, and Bang Thanh has effectively played a pivotal role in ensuring security and order at the grassroots level. With the motto "Close to the people, serving the people," the commune police force proactively stays close to the area, thoroughly understands the situation, and promptly resolves emerging issues at the grassroots level, contributing to maintaining peace and security in the mountainous regions.

Police officers from Thuong Minh commune participated in helping residents of Phieng Kham village repair their roofs and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Over the past period, police officers from Thuong Minh commune have regularly visited villages to disseminate legal information and understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people. In addition to their professional duties, many officers have also directly participated in supporting people in community activities, assisting disadvantaged households, thereby fostering closeness and trust among the people.

Ms. Vy Thi Tuong, from Na Nghe village, Thuong Minh commune, said: "The commune police regularly go down to the grassroots level to gather information and create conditions for people to report information, so the security and order in the locality are more stable than before. When people face difficulties due to natural disasters, the commune police force, along with local departments and organizations, come to encourage, help, and support them in overcoming the consequences. Because of these actions of the police force, we people have great trust and feel secure in our lives and production activities."

Thanks to increased community involvement, many conflicts among the people have been resolved promptly at the grassroots level, preventing them from escalating into complications. The commune police also collaborate with mass organizations to build self-governing models for security and order, encouraging people to actively participate in reporting crimes and maintaining security in their villages.

The Bang Thanh commune police donated rice and provided assistance to residents of Khuoi Man village in installing solar-powered lights.

Major Vu Xuan Son, Head of the Thuong Minh Commune Police, shared: "The mountainous area is vast, with many villages far from the center, so the police force must constantly stay close to the community and proactively gather information early. When we are close to the people and understand them, the dissemination of information, mobilization, and resolution of cases become easier. In particular, the commune police force always proactively implements many solutions to ensure security and order, especially strengthening propaganda on crime prevention, drug prevention, child marriage prevention, illegal immigration prevention, and raising people's awareness of law compliance."

In Bang Thanh commune, the commune's police force regularly maintains night patrols in key areas to prevent property theft and other violations of the law. Simultaneously, they coordinate with the militia and local security teams to promote the role of the community in maintaining security and order. Through these concrete and practical actions, the people have gained trust and proactively cooperated in providing information, leading to the timely detection, prevention, and handling of many incidents from the outset.

Mr. Ca Van Thuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bang Thanh commune, assessed: "In the past period, the commune's police force has played a core role in protecting grassroots security. The fact that the police officers regularly stay close to the people, support them in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, harvesting crops, especially in ethnic minority areas, has been highly appreciated by the people. Along with that, regularly disseminating information to the people to ensure the implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws has contributed to minimizing and ensuring social security and safety."

From reality, it can be seen that, in addition to fulfilling their duties of ensuring security and order, the commune police force actively participates in supporting people's economic development, building new rural areas, providing labor assistance to disadvantaged households, and participating in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. The image of the approachable and responsible police officers has left many positive feelings in the hearts of the people in the highlands.

Nevertheless, ensuring security at the grassroots level in mountainous communes still faces many difficulties due to the vast area, scattered population, and limited awareness among some residents. Certain types of crime and social vices still pose a potential risk if not strictly managed.

In the coming period, the commune-level police forces will continue to strengthen their presence at the grassroots level, promote legal awareness campaigns, build a nationwide movement for safeguarding national security, and enhance coordination among local forces. At the same time, they will focus on building the image of police officers who are close to the people, respect the people, and wholeheartedly serve the people... This is a crucial foundation for building a solid people's security posture at the grassroots level.
