Many people think that using this name, "half Western half Vietnamese" is not appropriate, especially in a music product with strong traditional cultural elements.

There were even more harsh criticisms, saying that mispronouncing the name of the place Bac Ninh as "Bac Bling" is "cultural distortion", losing the purity of the Vietnamese language and showing disrespect for the traditional cultural values of the homeland.

In the face of controversy, Hoa Minzy spoke up to explain the meaning of the name Bac Bling . The female singer said that "Bling" is a play on the word "Ninh" in "Bac Ninh", and at the same time expressed the desire for a Bac Ninh that "sparkles, shines and reaches out for development".
