During a mobile mission to Ngoc Vung Island Battalion (Brigade 242) to install a solar power system for the Information Station, Senior Lieutenant Le Hai Nam, staff of the Repair Workshop, Information Workshop and his teammates marched through the night to promptly fix the problem, ensuring smooth communication for the combat readiness mission. Senior Lieutenant Le Hai Nam shared: “Every minute of information interruption directly affects the training, combat readiness and rescue missions. Therefore, regardless of late night or storm, we are always ready to go.”

Staff of the Information Workshop (General Staff of Military Region 3) installed a solar power system for the Information Station at Ngoc Vung Island Battalion (Brigade 242).

The work of a communications soldier is not only difficult when moving in large areas and complex terrain, but also in the workshops, they face many challenges. At the Power Source Mechanical Workshop, we saw officers and employees working hard with circuit measuring machines, carefully "diagnosing" equipment that has been in use for many years.

Major Nguyen Trong Nghia, an employee of the Power Source Mechanical Workshop, shared: “The information equipment systems brought in by the units are of many types, lack uniformity, and have been used for many years, so they are degraded or severely damaged; during the repair process, we have to spend a lot of time finding errors and causes of damage; repairing, restoring, and extending the life of these devices requires meticulousness, high precision, and ensuring technical parameters for the machine.”

With the task of preserving, maintaining, repairing, installing equipment and information switchboard stations; handling and repairing mobile equipment when incidents occur, in recent years, the Party Committee and the Command of the Information Workshop have focused on organizing training and improving the technical expertise of officers and employees, especially newly graduated officers, with training content ranging from simple to complex, from old to new, focusing on some contents such as inspection methods, fixed and mobile VSAT station operation procedures; the process of repairing and maintaining equipment and techniques, officers and employees of the Workshop take photos and record the entire repair process of complex failures, creating documents for officers and employees of the unit to study and gain experience. Organizing training for information technicians and employees, and exams to upgrade workers; this is a favorable condition to help the unit's staff grasp the content and constantly improve their professional qualifications.

Officers and staff of the Information Workshop (General Staff of Military Region 3) apply initiatives and technical improvements to the task of repairing information equipment.

In addition, the unit promotes the emulation movement to promote initiatives, technical improvements, and arouse the exploration and creativity of each soldier. In the past 5 years (2020 - 2025), the unit has 12 high-quality technical improvement initiatives that have been applied and brought practical results, saving costs and efforts of soldiers, including 3 initiatives that won the Youth Innovation Encouragement Prize in the Army; 2 initiatives won the second prize, 1 initiative won the third prize, 1 Youth Innovation Encouragement Prize of the TTLL Corps, typically: "Equipment for checking subscriber lightning protection sessions, E1 lightning protection of military digital switchboard stations"; "Specialized testing equipment and protection of high-frequency transmitters"; "Remote control equipment to protect short-wave radio equipment"; "TA57 telephone testing and repair equipment"; "Television equipment cooler"...

Officers and staff of the Information Workshop (General Staff of Military Region 3) preserve, maintain and repair communications equipment.

According to Captain Luu Van Vy, Political Commissar of the Information Workshop, in the process of carrying out the mission, the unit encountered many difficulties due to the small number of troops, having to deploy in a large area; complex terrain and weather, difficult transportation, especially for units stationed in remote areas, border areas, and islands. In particular, the technical equipment system has many types, is not synchronized, has degraded after many years of use, and replacement parts are scarce. To make the troops feel secure in their attachment to the unit, the Workshop's Party Committee and commanders especially pay attention to ideological work, promptly grasp and encourage cadres and employees to proactively overcome difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks. "We always care about and take care of their material and spiritual lives, and implement well the regimes and policies. This is a fulcrum for the troops to have more confidence, attachment to the profession, and promote their full potential and responsibility," Captain Luu Van Vy shared.

With their intelligence, sense of responsibility and love for the profession, the officers and employees of the Information Workshop (General Staff of Military Region 3) have been making an important contribution to maintaining the "bloodline" of communication of the Military Region's armed forces.
