Ha Long investigates 'inappropriate language' at event with thousands of Chinese visitors

Ha Long said it is investigating complaints about the "use of inappropriate language" at a tourism event with thousands of Chinese visitors attending in the city.

This is part of the MICE tour (conference, summary tour) for 6,500 employees of Thai Sinh Thiem Tay - Khanh My Medicine Co., Ltd. in Vietnam. The tour schedule includes an internal exchange and summary event, taking place over four days (November 6, November 9, November 15 and November 22) with a scale of 1,000 guests per group and held at two conference centers in two hotels in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh .

According to the request for organizing a summary exchange for the Chinese tourist group sent by Cuong Lam International Tourism Trading Company Limited to the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, the content of the exchange is "summarizing the work achievements in 2023, aiming at the company's vision in 2024, enriching the cultural life of employees, stimulating enthusiasm, and enhancing internal cohesion".

However, according to VnExpress sources, at the conference center, the host did not accurately state the purpose of the event. On the program's background, there was the line "Vietnam Armored Corps Seminar 2023".

A leader of the Ha Long City People's Committee said that they had received information reflecting on the inappropriate words that took place at the above event. This person said that he is coordinating with the Quang Ninh Province Department of Tourism to learn more about the incident. It is expected that on November 13, the Ha Long City People's Committee will invite relevant parties to work.

Ha Long City's Propaganda Department also confirmed that it is investigating and verifying the reported information.
