Fortunately, thanks to being taken to the hospital in time and treated properly, the children's health has stabilized.
According to Dr. Sang, burns caused by boiling water in young children often cause deep damage, easily leave scars and have long-term effects on motor function. Timely and proper treatment immediately after the accident plays an important role in reducing the extent of damage and limiting sequelae.
Therefore, if unfortunately a child is burned, it is necessary to quickly separate the child from the cause of the burn. Then quickly soak the burned skin in clean water to lower the temperature of the burn; temporarily cover the burn; keep warm, replenish electrolytes and then transfer the patient to the nearest medical facility.
"Burn accidents in young children can happen at any time, during meals, when children are handling hot water bottles..., so absolutely do not let children play near areas with hot pots or stoves in operation; keep hot water bottles out of children's reach," Dr. Sang noted.
