Hanoi leads the country in national and international excellent students.

Today, May 24, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to honor outstanding students of the capital in the 2022-2023 school year.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that the scaleof education in Hanoi continues to be stable and has strong development with 2,840 schools, nearly 2.2 million students, and nearly 123,000 teachers.

The conditions of facilities, equipment, and application of information technology for teaching and learning at schools continue to be invested in the direction of standardization, synchronization, and modernization. By April, the rate of public schools meeting national standards in the whole city was 72.4%.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen awarded certificates of merit to 7 students with excellent achievements in the International Olympic competition.

Hanoi continues to maintain its leading educational quality. The capital’s students have affirmed their leading position in the country in national and international competitions for excellent students with 8 students winning international prizes, 141 students winning prizes in the national competition for excellent students…

In the 2022-2023 school year, as of May 20, Hanoi has admitted 40 excellent students to the Party. These are students studying at the following schools: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School, Nhan Chinh High School, Viet Duc High School, Vietnam - Poland High School, Le Loi High School, Dong Quan High School, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School, Quoc Oai High School, Xuan Dinh High School, Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Hoang Van Thu High School.

Hanoi is completing procedures to prepare for Party admission for 11 students from the following schools: Tran Phu High School - Hoan Kiem, Tran Nhan Tong High School, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Le Loi High School, and Phuc Tho High School.

Notably, last school year, for the first time, the Hanoi education sector implemented the model "Schools join hands to develop - teachers share responsibility" between favorable units located in the inner city and disadvantaged units in the suburbs.

To date, 30 Departments of Education and Training and 80 high schools have signed cooperation agreements. This is the industry's key solution to gradually narrow the gap in education quality between schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Do, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, commended and acknowledged the results and efforts that Hanoi teachers and students have achieved in the 2022-2023 school year, and at the same time proposed that the city strengthen training and management of the teaching staff with the motto of changing personnel management to human resource management to improve the quality of education.

At the ceremony, 7 students with excellent achievements in the International Olympic competition received certificates of merit from the Hanoi People's Committee; 13 students won first prize, 46 students won second prize in the national cultural subject competition for excellent students and 4 students won second prize in the science and technology competition for students received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training; 40 students with excellent achievements in studying and training received certificates of merit from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
