Before entering the new season, Hanoi FC successfully renewed the contract with coach Makoto Teguramori. The Japanese strategist will continue to stay with the capital team for another year.
According to the assessment of the Hang Day team, coach Makoto Teguramori brought calmness in his approach to the match, gradually reshaping the team with clear tactical imprints and meticulousness in every detail.
In the first period under the Japanese strategist, Hanoi FC had 9 wins, 2 draws and only 2 losses. The purple team achieved an impressive scoring efficiency with 29 goals after 13 matches (average 2.23 goals/match) and 4 clean sheets. Notably, Van Quyet and his teammates had a streak of 7 consecutive unbeaten matches, while coach Makoto was honored with the title of Best Coach of April 2025.
"Hanoi FC is a team with great potential, desire and ambition. I myself am someone who always wants to conquer new milestones, that is the reason I choose to continue to stick with it. 2025/26 will be a season that both I and the team have high expectations for, especially since this is also the 20th anniversary of the club's founding. I always bring many changes to the team and we try our best to realize the set goals", said the coach born in 1967.
In the 2024/25 season, with the appearance of coach Makoto Teguramori, Hanoi FC finished second in the V-League, thereby being in the top 3 for the 15th consecutive time - a clear demonstration of the bravery and solid tradition of the capital team.
In addition to successfully retaining coach Makoto Teguramori, Hanoi FC is purging its squad and shopping for good players to prepare for the new season. Notably, the Hang Day Stadium team is said to be testing overseas Vietnamese player Li Tenglong, whose Vietnamese name is Le Thanh Long.
According to the plan, V-League 2025/26 starts on August 15. The National Super Cup match between Nam Dinh Steel Blue vs CAHN will take place on August 8. The National Cup will start on September 13, and the First Division will start on September 19.
