144 golfers compete in the Golf Tournament for Young Vietnamese Talents 2025

VHO - On the morning of October 22, in Hanoi, a press conference was held to introduce the Golf Tournament for young Vietnamese talents - Swing for young talents Vietnam 2025, a meaningful sporting event towards the 72nd anniversary of the founding of Tien Phong Newspaper (November 16, 1953 - November 16, 2025).

The tournament, organized by Tien Phong Newspaper, is not only a playground for golf lovers but also has a noble goal: to promote and raise funds for the activities of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund.

The organizers answered questions from journalists

Established in 1993, the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund has always accompanied young talents in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, discovering, encouraging and supporting talented youth in many fields.

Through financial resources mobilized from activities, including the Tien Phong Golf Championship, the Fund has awarded tens of billions of VND in scholarships, bonuses and support to hundreds of outstanding groups and individuals in study, scientific research, start-ups, production, security - defense, culture, sports and volunteer activities.

This year, the 9th Tien Phong Golf Championship – Swing for young talents will officially take place on November 15 at Legend Valley Country Club (Ninh Binh), gathering 144 domestic and international golfers to compete. Notably, this is the first time Tien Phong Newspaper has cooperated with BRG Group to bring the tournament “For young Vietnamese talents” to the ancient capital after 8 consecutive seasons held at Kings' Island Golf Resort (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi ).

Golfers will be divided into 5 groups including A, B, C, D (women) and Young Talent group, competing in stroke play format with NET points calculated according to Handicap System 36. The championship title (Best Gross) will be awarded to the golfer with the best total score (Gross) on the competition day.

The organizers also offer many incentives to young athletes: golfers who have won the Tien Phong Golf Championship, won the National Golf Championship or led age groups at the VGA Junior Tour will be exempted from entry fees; golfers under 18 years old who are not in the above groups will be supported with 60% of the competition fee.

This year's Hole in One (HIO) prize is considered the most attractive ever, with prizes being luxury cars including Volvo XC60 Ultra, Geely Monjaro and Lynk & Co 09 placed at holes 4, 6 and 11 of Legend Valley Country Club.

Since its inception in 1997, Tien Phong Golf Championship has become a prestigious tournament, gathering a large number of golfers of all ages, contributing to the strong development of the Vietnamese youth golf movement. If the first season, the championship belonged to a mature golfer, then from the second season onwards, the gold cup was consecutively awarded to outstanding young golfers - proving the influence of the tournament and the effectiveness of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund in nurturing and discovering talents.

Among the notable champions, Nguyen Anh Minh – who won the Tien Phong Golf Championship in 2021 – is currently the number 1 amateur golfer in Vietnam (ranked 44th in the world ). After this first title, Anh Minh continued to affirm his class with an individual bronze medal and a team silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games in 2023, along with the championships of the Lexus Challenge 2022 and the National Golf Tournament 2022.

In addition, Nguyen Nhat Long – the 2020 champion – also left his mark when he won the National Amateur Championship (VAO) and the 2023 National Championship, before entering the professional path. Anh Minh, Nhat Long and other excellent golfers will compete in this meaningful tournament.

The Tien Phong Golf Championship – Swing for young talents 2025 is not only an attractive sports playground but also a bridge to spread the spirit of social responsibility, providing more resources for the young generation of Vietnam on the journey to reach the pinnacle of knowledge, sports and aspirations to contribute to the country.
