At the reception, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan thanked the Ambassador for his interest in promoting cooperation with Hanoi; and informed about the recent successful visit of the Hanoi delegation to Argentina.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan emphasized that although Hanoi and Buenos Aires are geographically far apart, they have a very close and emotional relationship. Argentina is an extremely beautiful country with impressive culture, old quarters and old streets; Hanoi is a capital with a long-standing culture with nearly 6,000 historical and cultural relics and nearly 1,000 craft villages; tourism is developed, and has deep relationships with more than 100 capitals around the world ...

In particular, in history, when Vietnam was fighting for independence and freedom for the Fatherland, the country and people of Argentina showed their love for Vietnam through large demonstrations against the war in Vietnam; the Argentine people loved President Ho Chi Minh very much. Currently, Ho Chi Minh Park in the capital of Argentina is very clean and beautiful, and is highly appreciated by the Argentine people.

Thanking the warm welcome of the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, the Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Marcos A. Bednarski, said that he was very impressed with the recent visit and work of the Hanoi delegation to Argentina. Through this visit and work, many potentials for cooperation between the two sides were discovered.

Commenting that Hanoi is a very vibrant city with open and sincere people, the Argentine Ambassador said that he was recently honored to participate in the programs celebrating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital and was very impressed with the performing artists as well as the thoughtful and solemn organization of the capital.

For Argentina, Vietnam is a very brave and resilient country and people. Currently, Vietnam has many economic development models that are worth learning from; the trade relations between the two countries are complementary.

The Argentine Ambassador said that Argentina will soon inaugurate a leather factory in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, a company producing vaccines to prevent foot-and-mouth disease is about to move its office to Vietnam... This shows that Vietnam is a partner attracting investment from Argentine businesses.

The Argentine Ambassador expressed his wish that Hanoi would give Argentina a public space to place a statue of General San Martín - leader and hero of liberation of Argentina in Hanoi; at the same time, enhance cultural exchanges, including the traditional tango dance of the Argentine people. The Argentine Ambassador proposed to organize a collective tango festival in an outdoor space for the people of the capital...

At the same time, with the famous football tradition of his country, the Argentine Ambassador also wishes to cooperate to help Vietnam's football, help Vietnamese youth to increase physical activity, sports, and improve health.

The Argentine Ambassador also emphasized that although the geographical distance between the two countries is very far, the feelings are very close, so the Ambassador hopes that the direct flight project between the two countries will soon be successfully negotiated to shorten the geographical distance, promote the relationship and exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
