Admitted 82 party members who are high school students

Reporting at the conference, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the City Party Committee Trieu Thi Ngoc said that implementing Project No. 20-DA/TU dated October 24, 2022 of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee "Improving the quality of Party membership admission in the Hanoi City Party Committee in the new period", in the past time, the subordinate Party Committees and related units have seriously implemented it, achieving important initial results.

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has done a good job of propaganda and political and ideological education, through emulation movements, promptly discovered outstanding people, introduced them to the Party cell for training and admission into the Party. The Party members admitted in schools have promoted their pioneering, exemplary and matured in all aspects.

To effectively carry out the work of developing party members who are students, the Standing Committees of district, town and city party committees and party committees directly under the City Party Committee with high schools and vocational high schools have directed the Party Committee's Organizing Committee to preside over and guide the Party Committees of high schools in the area to develop plans to create sources of Party admission.

Through the team of homeroom teachers and the Youth Union and Youth Association in the school, we review and select to include in the list of Party sympathizers outstanding students, first of all those with high entrance exam results, good academic results in the first year of school, and actively participate in the activities organized by the school's Youth Union.

To date, 19 district, county and town party committees have admitted 82 party members who are high school students. The newly admitted party members are truly outstanding students, outstanding in their studies and youth union movements, and are examples for other high school students to follow. The party admission ceremonies are solemnly and seriously organized by party committees at all levels in accordance with regulations.

At the conference, representatives of the units' leaders discussed the successes and limitations in implementing Project No. 20-DA/TU. The discussions stated that the results of admitting party members who are high school students are the clearest evidence of the implementation and organization of the Project by the City Party Committee to improve the quality of party membership admission and rejuvenate the newly admitted party members, recognizing the efforts of the Party Committees, Youth Union organizations and high school students.

Raise the responsibility of the leader

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that although Project 20-DA/TU has not been implemented for a year, the Hanoi Party Committee wants to have an initial assessment so that units and schools can better implement it in the 2023-2024 school year.

Appreciating the results achieved after nearly a year of implementing the Project and acknowledging 12 opinions expressed at the conference, comrade Nguyen Van Phong said that the work of developing the Party among high school students has had positive changes with many effective and creative ways in implementing the Project. In particular, the young Party members who have just been admitted to schools are examples and models for excellent students to follow and learn from in order to strive to be in the Party's ranks.

Pointing out the difficulties and shortcomings in the work of Party development and admitting students into the Party, comrade Nguyen Van Phong said that the coordination between the Party Committee of Hanoi Universities and Colleges, Hanoi Youth Union as well as schools and districts, towns still has some shortcomings that need to be resolved soon.

On that basis, comrade Nguyen Van Phong requested Party committees and organizations, especially leaders, to uphold the sense of responsibility, focus on consolidating and improving the quality of grassroots Party organizations in schools. Continue to propagate and thoroughly understand the purpose, requirements, significance and importance of Party membership recruitment, especially high school student recruitment. At the same time, synchronously implement the groups of solutions of Project 20-DA/TU proposed by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, focusing on training high school students to develop comprehensively, not only focusing on teaching knowledge in class, but also paying attention to political education, ideology, ethics, lifestyle, awareness and responsibility of citizens. Thereby, schools can discover, train and foster excellent students to introduce to the Party and recruit Party members.

Comparing the current number of 12th grade students in Hanoi to over 100,000, but only 82 party members have been admitted, comrade Nguyen Van Phong suggested that schools and units need to be proactive and creative in implementing Project 20-DA/TU, especially in selecting worthy students to create resources and develop the Party; at the same time, pay attention to seriously implementing the development of resource creation plans, focusing on analyzing and carefully evaluating the sources for Party development. Along with that, it is necessary to innovate the content, programs, and methods of fostering awareness about the Party, the political theory training program for newly admitted party members to ensure practicality, quality, and effectiveness; flexibly open training classes to create conditions for students to participate in studying fully and effectively.
