According to the police, this is the result after nearly 2 weeks of launching a voluntary campaign, from June 22 to July 1, to address the situation of trading in counterfeit goods, fake goods, and food of poor quality that has caused public outrage, especially in La Phu commune (where many candy production and trading establishments are concentrated).
Previously, through the reflection of the people and the press, the authorities discovered a large amount of expired food illegally dumped at the landfill in La Phu commune, causing serious environmental pollution. Through verification, the authorities determined that the owner of a business in the area had arbitrarily dumped a large amount of defective and damaged goods into the environment.
Immediately afterwards, an interdisciplinary working group between Hanoi City Police and Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade inspected the field and worked with nearly 500 production and business households in La Phu commune.
At this meeting, the leaders of Hanoi City Police called on people to strictly comply with legal regulations, say no to smuggled and counterfeit goods, especially in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, because they directly affect the health of consumers. By July 9, more than 50 households had voluntarily handed over about 25 tons of candy, various foods such as red apples, sausages, dried food, etc. that did not meet business conditions.
