"Time travel" with ancient legends

The night tour “Tran Vu Bell” at the special national relic Quan Thanh Temple has just been launched to the public, promising to become a new highlight in the journey to explore Hanoi at night. Inspired by the traditional festival celebrating the day of Saint Huyen Thien Tran Vu's descent to bestow blessings - a sacred ritual held annually at Quan Thanh Temple, the 90-minute night tour program “Tran Vu Bell” takes visitors on a journey steeped in legends, bearing the colors of folk culture and long-standing beliefs of the Vietnamese people. Live performances revive memories of a land that gathers the sacred spirit of the capital. Through emotional stage language, the program recounts the thousand-year-old cultural values of Thang Long in a close, vivid and humane way, opening up an approach to renewing heritage to connect with the present and the future.

Located in the heart of the thousand-year-old capital, Thang Long Imperial Citadel is one of the most important relics in the system of relics of Vietnam. The night tour in the Imperial Citadel "Decoding Thang Long Imperial Citadel" lasts about 90 minutes. The route starts from Doan Mon - the gate leading to the Forbidden City, where the king lived and worked. Here, visitors will enjoy royal dances right on unique archaeological vestiges, admire precious artifacts and antiques in the exhibition house with the theme "Thang Long - Hanoi - Thousand-year history from underground". Visiting here at night, visitors will also attend the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the previous emperors at Kinh Thien Palace - the center of the ancient Thang Long citadel. Each person will also be able to draw cool water from the king's well, symbolizing luck and prosperity.

Technology contributes to highlighting heritage

Heritage space at night has long been considered dull and boring, but the trend of exploiting the strengths of modern technology in heritage tours has contributed to "awakening" the potentials that were thought to be forgotten in the capital's tourism . "Ngoc Son Mysterious Night" is a special experience program combining live stage, installation art and sound, light effects and 3D mapping technology at the special national relic Ngoc Son Temple (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). The program is built on real historical data and legends that have been passed down and continued for centuries. From Tran Ba communal house yard facing Hoan Kiem Lake, the legend of King Le returning the sword to the Turtle God is staged into an elaborate and unique live stage with a Dragon boat and the symbol of the Turtle God floating on the lake to receive the precious sword.

The night tour of the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy takes "the essence of philosophy" as the main theme, applying light projection technology to lead viewers into the sparkling, impressive, unique, and sophisticated space of the country's first national university, which is completely different from the daytime. The night tour starts from the initiation area, to the success area, the doctoral stele garden, the worshiping hall area, and ends at the royal school area. Besides interesting stories, the strength of technology brings many unique and different effects that can only be achieved at night. At the doctoral stele garden, technology "transforms" stone steles into real books, providing extremely valuable information about the history of imperial examinations in many feudal dynasties. Meanwhile, the worshiping hall area allows visitors to experience virtual reality glasses to explore the history of the formation and development of the Imperial Academy - the cradle of training the country's talents for nearly 800 years. The most special highlight is at the end of the journey at the Thai Hoc area with a 3D projection on the theme "The Quintessence of Taoism".

The common point of these night tours is that they combine many scientific and technological applications to highlight the heritage value to attract tourists. According to Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang, from now until the end of the year, the capital's tourism industry will continue to prioritize support and research to build tours and cultural tourism products associated with night tourism to enhance the experience for tourists. "We want tourists to feel how beautiful Hanoi is at night, want tourists from all over the country and international tourists to come to Hanoi to love Hanoi more and feel the night space of Hanoi, very different from the daytime. During the day, Hanoi is bustling and bustling, at night, tourists will see a different space, a quiet, peaceful space, and listen to the relics and heritage "telling stories" of thousands of years - Ms. Huong Giang emphasized.
