According to CNN Travel, the ranking of the world's 100 most attractive cities was evaluated by data analysis company Euromonitor International based on criteria such as tourism, sustainability, economic efficiency, health and safety.

Topping this year's list is Paris, France, with the summer Olympics and the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral. This is the fourth year the "city of light" has been named "the most attractive city in the world."

More than 70 million people are expected to visit the French capital by 2024, thanks to its open tourism policy and excellent infrastructure, according to the report.

Europe dominates this year's rankings with six cities making the top 10. Madrid (Spain) is in second place, Rome and Milan (Italy) are in fourth and fifth, Amsterdam (Netherlands) is in seventh and Barcelona (Spain) is in 10th.

London (UK), which ranked 10th in 2023, dropped to 13th in 2024 due to remaining shortcomings in tourism, health, safety and sustainability policies.

New York, ranked No. 6, is the only US city in the top 10 thanks to its tourism performance advantages, with high demand both domestically and internationally.

Cities in the Asia-Pacific region have impressed by leading the world in international visitor arrivals. Euromonitor International said that nearly 13 million international trips were recorded to Tokyo, Japan, this year, significantly higher than pre-pandemic levels.

Meanwhile, Bangkok (Thailand) is the leading city in terms of tourism policy and attractiveness, and is also the world's number one city in terms of international visitors. Euromonitor International 's report shows that there were 32.4 million international visitors to Bangkok this year, nearly 10 million more than the number one city last year, Istanbul (Turkey).

Two Vietnamese cities, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, ranked 76th and 83rd respectively in Euromonitor International 's list this year.
