According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the afternoon of February 7, 2025, the Northern and North Central regions will experience severe cold, mountainous areas will be extremely cold, and high mountainous areas will likely experience snow and ice. The lowest temperature will generally be from 9 to 12 degrees Celsius, mountainous areas from 5 to 8 degrees Celsius, and high mountainous areas will have places below 2 degrees Celsius.
To proactively respond to severe cold and strong winds at sea, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recommends that provinces and cities (including Hanoi) continue to implement Official Dispatch No. 07/CD-TTg dated January 26, 2025 of the Prime Minister on proactively preventing and combating prolonged severe cold.
Provinces and cities closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on the development of cold air and promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested localities to implement plans to respond to the cold, in particular strengthening guidance on ensuring the health of people and students at boarding schools. Special note: do not use coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid human casualties.
In addition, actively propagate and guide livestock households to strengthen barns, cover and keep warm, store food; prevent and control epidemics for livestock and poultry; guide measures to ensure safety for rice, vegetable and other crop production.
