Ha Tinh solemnly held a memorial service and buried 4 martyrs who died in Laos to their homeland.

(PLVN) - On the morning of May 26, at Nam Martyrs Cemetery, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province, a solemn memorial service and burial ceremony was held for the remains of four Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao PDR.

At the memorial service, Mr. Duong Tat Thang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Ha Tinh province read the eulogy expressing his infinite sorrow and deep gratitude to the martyrs - the outstanding sons of the Vietnamese people who devoted their youth, fought bravely and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and the noble international mission.

During the great resistance war of the two countries and two peoples, tens of thousands of Vietnamese youth and cadres crossed the Truong Son mountain range, fighting side by side with the Lao army and people against the common enemy.

To complete that sacred and noble mission, many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts heroically sacrificed their lives on Laotian soil, contributing greatly to the glorious victory of the revolutions of the two countries; beautifying and building the loyal and pure international relationship, the special friendship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Laos, becoming a model in international relations.

Implementing the policies of the two Parties, two States, and the Government of Vietnam - Laos; from 1999 to present, with the help of the Party, State and people of Laos, the Special Working Group of Ha Tinh province and the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team (under the Military Command of Ha Tinh province) have crossed forests, streams, and overcome many difficulties to search, collect, and repatriate 825 martyrs' remains to the country (in the dry season of 2024-2025, 4 martyrs' remains were collected).

After the memorial service, the remains of four Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos were buried at the Nam Martyrs Cemetery.
