BHG - Responding to the requirements of national construction and defense, in 1976, the two provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang were merged under the name Ha Tuyen. The two affectionate words Ha Tuyen were used for 16 years, from 1976 to 1991, with many proud memories. The people of all ethnic groups in the province worked together, shared the good and the bad. Then, when they were re-established as the two provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang, the name Ha Tuyen was always deeply in the heart.

During the period of unification of the two provinces, the clouds and sky blended together, and feelings were shared through the production and fighting process of the rear and the frontline. People, cadres, and party members were also interwoven, supplemented, and rotated... Through that, the people of the two provinces gradually merged into a sentiment of solidarity and affection. In particular, during that unification period, the connections in life, the evacuation of people from the frontline to the rear, many families with half Ha Giang and half Tuyen Quang were destined to be built until now. Now, after more than 30 years of separation from 1991 until now, in the two provinces, there are many families with a wife or husband from Ha Giang, and a husband or wife from Tuyen Quang.

There is a street named Ha Tuyen in Ha Giang city, which evokes many dear memories.

The shared joys and sorrows during the process of unifying the two provinces to fight to protect the Fatherland's border have engraved in the souls of many people countless feelings of comradeship and brotherhood. From then on, the generation born during the period when Ha Tuyen was a blend of Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang or couples living in Ha Tuyen who had children during this time also named their children related to Ha Tuyen province. Therefore, currently in Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang, there are many people born from 1976 to present with the name Ha Tuyen or Tuyen Ha, or families with 2 children named Ha and Tuyen respectively. On social networks such as Facebook and Zalo, it is easy to come across nicknames in Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang named Ha Tuyen, Tuyen Ha...

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, in Group 1, Quang Trung Ward, Ha Giang City is one of many families that have imprinted memories of the Ha Tuyen era through the way they name their children. Ms. Ha shared that her mother's name is Tuyen, she married a man far away in Cao Bang and when she was born, her mother named her Ha because at that time our province was called Ha Tuyen. Her mother's intention was to name her Ha so that when combined with the mother and child's names, it would be Ha Tuyen to ease her homesickness.

As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen Ha, currently working at the provincial tourism promotion center, shared: Her parents gave birth to twin sisters, and it was not until 1977, after the province merged, that her father registered her birth. Her father was from Hai Phong, and went to Ha Tuyen to start a business, so he registered the birth of two children, one named Tuyen Ha (Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang), the other named Thanh Hai (Hai Phong) to remind the family that there are always two hometowns.

During the years of province unification, with the special mission of protecting the Fatherland. Therefore, after the separation of the province, the name Ha Tuyen was deeply imprinted in the minds of not only the people of the two provinces. Many generations of cadres and soldiers who had years of fighting and working on the front line of Ha Tuyen, after returning to their hometowns across the country, whenever mentioning the northernmost region of the Fatherland with memories of the fight to protect the border, they all mentioned the name of the Ha Tuyen front, many people named their children Ha Tuyen, or names related to Ha Tuyen province.

It is touching that right in the center of the province, in front of the gate of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee headquarters, there is a street named Ha Tuyen, to remind that Ha Tuyen is always in the hearts of Ha Giang people. The signboard on a peaceful street, but is really enough to remind of a historical period when two provinces merged, together creating strength at the front line of the country. Talking about the signboard of Ha Tuyen street, many people, especially those who lived in the years of Ha Tuyen period in the past, expressed their emotions and shared that, every time passing through Ha Tuyen street, it reminds them of many beautiful and proud memories of the past.

In just a short time, the people of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang will be able to return to the same house as before. The memories of a time of fire and war, a time of blood and flesh bond, and shared feelings will be the connecting thread, so that we can unite and join hands to build a stronger homeland in the era of national development.
