HAGL likely to have to compete for relegation

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên25/06/2023

In round 12 that took place yesterday afternoon, June 25, HAGL Club led by Coach Kiatisak could not beat Ho Chi Minh City Club despite playing at Pleiku Stadium. During more than 90 minutes of the match, the mountain town team did everything to find 3 points but they could not achieve their goal. In this match, HAGL had a series of scoring opportunities such as Minh Vuong's shot hitting the crossbar, Paollo's shot at the end of the first half but was cleared by Brendon (Ho Chi Minh City) on the goal line, or Dinh Thanh Binh's unfortunate miss in the second half. The strikers were unlucky and partly unlucky, so HAGL remained in 9th place with 14 points, 2 points behind Nam Dinh Club, ranked above.

In the final match of phase 1 against Binh Dinh, HAGL must win at Quy Nhon Stadium to be able to enter the top 8. This task seems quite difficult for coach Kiatisak and his team at the present time.

While HAGL is struggling, Hanoi FC has returned to the championship race. The 2-1 away win over Khanh Hoa helped the capital team gain 22 points, only 2 points behind the top team Hanoi Police Club (CAHN). The two players who scored for Hanoi FC were Tuan Hai and Duy Manh, while Dinh Cong Thanh scored the only goal for Khanh Hoa.

Duc Chien scored a double for Viettel

Coach Le Huynh Duc has not been able to revive Binh Duong team.

The rise of Hanoi FC creates a 3-way race between them and CAHN and Thanh Hoa teams. This promises to be an exciting battle when the teams enter the final round of phase 1 on July 2 to find the best score for themselves before V-League 2023 enters phase 2.

Viettel Club also had a 2-1 victory over Binh Duong Club with 2 goals from Duc Chien, but the army team was at a disadvantage in this year's championship race when they only had 18 points (6 points behind the top team CAHN).

In the remaining match, SLNA drew 0-0 with Binh Dinh Club. This draw means SLNA no longer has a chance to compete for the top 8 and they will have to play in the relegation group.
