
This is included in the decision on the plan for restructuring crop and livestock production on rice-growing land in 2025, recently issued by the People's Committee of Hai Duong province.
Of the total 433.26 hectares of rice land subject to conversion, 283.5 hectares were converted to annual crops; and 149.76 hectares were converted to rice cultivation (1 crop) combined with aquaculture.
According to the decision, the area of rice land to be converted is located in 7 out of a total of 12 localities, including the districts of Nam Sach, Ninh Giang, Kim Thanh, Binh Giang, Gia Loc, Thanh Mien and Hai Duong City.
Hai Duong City will be allowed to convert the crop and livestock structure on rice-growing land the most in the province in 2025, with 247.92 hectares (168.3 hectares to annual crops and 79.62 hectares to rice cultivation combined with aquaculture).
Following closely behind are Ninh Giang district with 68.64 hectares, Binh Giang with 40 hectares, Kim Thanh with 26 hectares, Gia Loc with 21.2 hectares, Nam Sach with 15.5 hectares, and Thanh Mien with 14 hectares.
The People's Committee of Hai Duong province requests the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to guide and supervise the restructuring of crop and livestock production in districts and cities; and to compile the results of implementation and report them to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of the province.
