Since its inception in 1952, the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) has become the largest annual international science and engineering competition for secondary school students (grades 9 through 12).
Each year, approximately 1,800 high school students from approximately 80 countries/territories around the world participate in 22 fields of study.
In 2023, the competition will be held live in Dallas (USA), taking place from May 14 to May 19 with the participation of more than 1,300 projects and 1,600 students from 61 countries and territories.
Vietnam has participated in ISEF since 2012 and has always had stable results. Every year, Vietnam is one of more than 50% of countries with awards in this competition. In 2023, with 7 participating projects and one third prize, Vietnam is in the top 33 countries/territories with award-winning projects in the competition.
The Ministry of Education and Training said the competition organizers highly appreciated Vietnam’s scientific research movement. Science and technology competitions are held annually, attracting thousands of students to participate. This is a premise for Vietnam to improve the quality of scientific research in general and national and international competition projects in particular.
