Immediately afterwards, the patient was urgently transferred to SIS Can Tho General Hospital for coronary intervention. On the way to the hospital, the patient continued to have a second cardiac arrest and was successfully resuscitated. At SIS Can Tho Hospital, the electrocardiogram recorded that the patient had a non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, with dangerous arrhythmia complications. Coronary angiography via the DSA system showed that all 3 coronary branches were severely narrowed and complicated, but the blood vessels had spontaneously reopened the flow.

Doctor T's health is now stable.

BSCK2 Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Head of Internal Medicine Department, SIS Can Tho Hospital, said: "Although the patient's heart had returned when he was admitted to the hospital, his internal medicine condition was extremely critical, such as: deep coma, respiratory failure, multiple organ failure, increased liver enzymes, hypokalemia, cardiogenic shock, low blood pressure requiring high-dose vasopressors. We decided to provide intensive medical treatment in the ICU to stabilize him before performing coronary stent intervention."

Through medical history, it was noted that about 2 days before the cardiac arrest, the patient had symptoms of fever and chills. In order to determine the exact cause of the cardiac arrest, whether it was due to myocarditis, septic shock or myocardial infarction, the doctors ordered a cardiac MRI. The results showed that the myocardial damage originated from severe stenosis of the right coronary artery. The intervention team successfully placed a stent to re-open a narrowed coronary artery branch. Currently, the patient is recovering well, is alert, and has no brain sequelae. The remaining coronary lesions will be treated in the next phase...
