"Spring of love, Tet of sharing"

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the spring atmosphere seems to arrive earlier in many places as families receiving social welfare benefits, near-poor households, and those in difficult circumstances receive warm and meaningful Tet gifts. This is not only material support, but also timely care and sharing from the entire community, ensuring that each family has a more fulfilling and complete Tet holiday.

In early January 2026, Thien Huong ward proactively implemented various social mobilization solutions, enlisting the support of businesses, philanthropists, and residents. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thien Huong ward, stated that the ward's Fatherland Front identified social mobilization as a practical solution to help alleviate difficulties and ensure no one is left behind during Tet (Lunar New Year). Therefore, in addition to local resources, the ward mobilized significant social contributions from businesses and philanthropists, including: 270 gift packages from the City Labor Union (1 million VND/package); 60 gift packages from Vicem Hai Phong One-Member Limited Company worth 30 million VND; 50 gift packages from Aurora Vietnam Footwear Industry Limited Company worth 25 million VND; 50 gift packages from Van Der Leun Vietnam Limited Company worth 25 million VND; and 10 gift packages from Aristo Vietnam Mold Limited Company worth 5 million VND. Since then, the ward has distributed 742 gifts totaling 602 million VND to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, families in difficult circumstances, and poor students who have overcome difficulties in the area.

Among those who received gifts, Mr. Dao Quang Vinh, a war invalid in Hoang Dong 6 residential area, expressed his emotion upon receiving the Lunar New Year gifts from the local authorities. He said: "This timely and humane care and sharing has become a great source of encouragement, helping me and many others feel warmer and more confident to strive in life."

Not only in Thien Huong ward, but the joy of the Lunar New Year also spread to many other disadvantaged families throughout the city. Recently, in the bitterly cold weather at the beginning of the year, on January 22nd, with the coordination of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh ward, representatives of Nu Cuoi Dental Clinic (Thuy Nguyen ward) presented 10 Tet gift packages to families in difficult circumstances. Each package, worth 500,000 VND, included cash and essential necessities. These small but heartwarming gifts helped families, especially the elderly and children, alleviate difficulties and celebrate Tet in a warm and sharing atmosphere.

Promote effective practices.

Based on the practical results in caring for people during Tet (Lunar New Year), many localities have been and are continuing to promote and replicate effective and creative approaches in mobilizing social resources and caring for social welfare, creating a solid foundation for long-term and sustainable sharing.

A prime example is the "Front's Embrace" model implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuy Nguyen Ward since the beginning of 2026. Despite being launched only recently, the model has quickly proven effective, mobilizing social resources to provide timely support to disadvantaged individuals and poor students in the area.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Nhan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuy Nguyen Ward, there are still 118 near-poor households and many people in particularly difficult circumstances in the ward. Therefore, the unit has implemented the "Front's Embrace" model, mobilizing 215 million VND to support and care for those in special need, especially during the Lunar New Year. In addition, the ward previously raised over 585 million VND for the "For the Poor" Fund and over 850 million VND for the Fund to support people affected by storms and floods. On the occasion of the National Unity Day, the ward presented 177 gifts worth 88.5 million VND, and the Fatherland Front Working Committees in 56 residential areas donated 650 gifts worth over 320 million VND to support households in special need.

The "Front's Embrace" model of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuy Nguyen ward has proven effective, contributing to local social welfare.

In February, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuy Nguyen Ward will closely coordinate with the government and mass organizations to organize a program of making and distributing banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to near-poor and particularly disadvantaged households in the area. Through this program, the locality will continue to call on businesses and philanthropists to join hands so that these acts of kindness can continue to extend and contribute to local social welfare.

Mr. Luu Van Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh Ward, said that thanks to the advantage of having the An Lu Solidarity Transport Association, the social mobilization efforts have received strong support from the people and businesses. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward mobilized over 222.9 million VND for the "For the Poor" Fund. The ward called for support for people affected by storms and floods with over 1.13 billion VND and 7.2 tons of essential goods, directly coordinating the transport of over 4 tons of goods to Tuyen Hoa commune, Quang Tri province. During the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Hoa Binh Ward plans to continue donating 200 gift packages to support near-poor households and families in special difficulties with a total value of 120 million VND and 3 tons of rice. Notably, these 3 tons of rice were donated by Gia Duc Industrial Service Joint Stock Company (Bach Dang Ward) to support local social welfare work.
