Hai Phong: Outrage over daughter abandoning father in temple.

On May 12th, the leaders of Lac Phuong commune People's Committee (Hai Phong city) confirmed the information that an incident had occurred in the commune where an elderly man was taken to a temple by taxi hired by his relatives and then abandoned there.

Earlier, at around 11:00 AM on May 10th, Venerable Thich Quang Van, abbot of Dong Pagoda (Ham Hy village, Lac Phuong commune), discovered an elderly man lying in the pagoda grounds with his personal belongings and a handwritten note that read: "I have mental health problems and leg pain; please take care of me. I sincerely thank the pagoda."

Checking the security camera footage, Venerable Thich Quang Van discovered a man and a woman arriving in a car with license plate 29F-058... in front of Dong Pagoda. The man was driving, while the woman was sitting in the back seat.

After stopping the car, the woman opened the door and helped an elderly man out. However, as soon as he stepped out, he stumbled and fell, hitting his face on the ground. The two then helped him up, carried him into the temple grounds, and quickly left.

Later, the temple discovered the man lying on a chair in the temple grounds.

According to Vu Duy Sy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lac Phuong commune, immediately after receiving the information, the local authorities directed the Lac Phuong commune police to investigate, coordinating with the temple and relevant agencies to verify the information.

Initial verification results indicate that the man is approximately 55 years old and from Hanoi ; the person who hired the taxi to take him to Dong Pagoda is his own daughter.

Working with authorities, the man's daughter stated that due to difficult circumstances, she was unable to care for her father, and therefore conceived the idea of ​​bringing him to the temple for refuge.

The man's health is now basically stable, and he has been picked up by his relatives and returned home after the authorities intervened.
