Electronics prices drop sharply before Tet

Electronics are heavily discounted before Tet. According to Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, supermarkets and electronics centers in Ho Chi Minh City are organizing many promotional sales programs during the Lunar New Year with discounts of up to 70%.

Specifically, there is a TV model that is reduced by 51% to 2.3 million VND; washing machines are reduced by up to 61%. Refrigerators are also reduced by 32-58%.

In addition, supermarkets and electronics centers also organize old-for-new exchange programs for washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners with a support level of 2 million VND/machine. In addition, electronics retail systems also sell display and returnable products at significantly reduced prices, up to 70%.

Cheap mini dishwashers are sold everywhere online.

Recently, websites have been selling many types of mini dishwashers at very cheap prices, only about 2-3 million VND/unit. There are even many cheap mini dishwasher models priced under 1 million VND. Many people were curious to buy them to try but were disappointed because the machine was no different from a child's toy.

According to the investigation of the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong, the reason why this type of machine is cheap is because the origin is not clear, mainly because of the "strange" brand. While dishwashers of famous brands are made from stainless steel, this cheap washing machine is made from plastic.

The low-cost dishwashers are often introduced with 360-degree rotating washing feature with dual water spray system on both the top and bottom surfaces. While the horizontal water spray system with the ability to clean dishes optimally is hardly mentioned.

At the centers and electronics supermarkets, many mini dishwasher models of famous brands in the world such as Candy, Electrolux, Hefela, Beko... are also sold at prices of only 4-7 million VND/unit. This price is quite attractive compared to the price of tens of millions of VND per unit of regular large dishwashers.

Some routes require a 10-hour round trip to get home for Tet.

Not to mention, rice prices have decreased following the world trend in the context of India (the world's rice warehouse) lifting the ban on rice exports as well as removing export taxes, "dumping" goods, creating pressure on the market.

Tet cakes, jams and beer are on sale

Purchasing power at markets, supermarkets, beer dealers, etc. has begun to increase sharply with only more than half a month left until Tet. According to Thanh Nien Newspaper, unlike usual, this year’s Tet is the peak of promotions and discounts even on essential goods. Among them, confectionery, tea, jam, beer, wine, soft drinks, etc. have seen the sharpest reductions. Thanks to that, purchasing power is increasing rapidly.

Beer consumption has decreased sharply over the past few years and this year is no exception, although prices have not increased or even decreased.

Coconut prices hit record high

Coconut prices have increased sharply. According to Nguoi Dua Tin, recently, businesses and cooperatives have been purchasing fresh coconuts for 70,000-80,000 VND/dozen (12 coconuts), while dry coconuts (grade 1) cost over 150,000 VND/dozen, nearly 3 times higher than 3 months ago.

In addition, the price of green coconut water has nearly doubled, exceeding 10,000 VND/fruit. This is the highest price in many years.

However, many coconut growing families regret not having coconuts to sell. Coconut processing enterprises are also in a difficult situation due to the scarcity of raw materials.
