The flight marks the official launch of Philippine Airlines' direct route connecting Manila and Da Nang, with a frequency of three flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
And expected to increase to 4 flights/week from November 2025, using Airbus A321 aircraft with 199 seats including 12 business class seats.
At the international departure terminal (Da Nang airport), Philippine Airlines also coordinated with Vietnam Airport Ground Services Joint Stock Company to welcome and give gifts to the first passengers on flight PR586 from Da Nang to Manila departing at 13:35 on the same day.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, shared: The launch of Philippine Airlines' flight took place on the first day of Da Nang City (new) officially coming into operation with an expanded geographical space and ecosystem of tourism products and services.
Da Nang tourism industry is determined to continue diversifying its markets, including the Southeast Asian market, through promotional and advertising programs, especially focusing on opening more flights to the central coastal city.
This new route brings the total number of flights from Manila to Da Nang to 12 flights/week.

“We look forward to welcoming travelers from central Vietnam on direct flights to Manila, where they will experience authentic Filipino hospitality, along with convenient connections to other Philippine cities and resort islands, the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan,” said Philippine Airlines President Richard Nuttall.
According to the General Statistics Office, in 2024, the total number of Filipino visitors to Da Nang will reach more than 65,000. In the first 5 months of 2025, this number was more than 49,000, an increase of 2.26 times over the same period last year.
