Young doctors conduct screening examinations for residents at the program.
With hundreds of thousands of stroke deaths annually, Vietnam currently ranks fourth in Southeast Asia. Notably, those who suffer strokes and die from them in Vietnam are typically in the 60-70 age group, younger than in other countries.
Speaking at the program's opening ceremony, Professor, Doctor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health , emphasized that stroke is the leading cause of death and disability in Vietnam, and a major burden on the healthcare system and society.

A large number of people were present at the event from early morning.
According to Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan, launching the National Program for Stroke Prevention, Control, and Management is a step towards concretizing the spirit of Politburo Resolutions 57 and 72 on shifting from curative medicine to preventive medicine, from reactive to proactive, from individual to interdisciplinary cooperation, towards a smart, humane healthcare system that puts the people at the center.

Youth union members and volunteers are assisting people with medical examinations.
Immediately after the ceremony, young volunteer doctors from various hospitals such as Bach Mai, 108, Hanoi Medical University, and the Hanoi Stroke Association... provided free screening for thousands of Hanoi residents. People not only had their blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and BMI measured, but also received carotid ultrasound, basic neurological examinations, and advice on stroke risk management.
Notably, the medical examination process utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) technology in analyzing screening data, helping to identify high-risk groups, provide personalized recommendations, and build stroke risk maps in the community.

Approximately 50 doctors and medical professionals volunteered to participate in the program.
According to Nguyen Huu Tu, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, in the context of an increasing number of people under 35 facing stroke, technology in general and artificial intelligence in particular will help identify risks early, prevent and act more promptly and accurately.

Young doctors and medical staff measure people's BMI.
At the ceremony, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association and related units announced the launch of the special section "Stroke - Early Recognition, Quick Action" in the Health and Life Newspaper, the official publication of the Ministry of Health; and implemented visual communication at more than 2,400 pharmacies and 200 vaccination centers nationwide.

People are getting ultrasounds at screening centers.
On this occasion, the organizing committee launched the "Cycling for a Healthy Vietnam" activity around West Lake (Hanoi) with the participation of hundreds of young doctors, youth union members, and Hanoi residents... aiming to spread an active lifestyle, improve physical fitness, and maintain cardiovascular and brain health.
