Modric's beautiful act

Luka Modric proactively asked to postpone the medical examination procedure with AC Milan to fully focus on his final days wearing Real Madrid's shirt.

Modric only had a medical with AC Milan after the FIFA Club World Cup ended.

According to Marca , Modric has reached an agreement to join AC Milan on a free transfer after his contract with Real expires. However, he does not want to make an official announcement or undergo a medical examination at the moment, to show absolute respect for the team he has been with for the past 12 years.

Modric is still on Real Madrid's list for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the US under new coach Xabi Alonso. In the group stage, Real will face Al Hilal (198/6), Pachuca (23/6) and RB Salzburg (27/6). The final of the tournament is scheduled to take place on July 14.

Despite interest from Saudi Arabia and MLS, Modric still prioritizes continuing to play in Europe. He wants to maintain his peak form so he can play for Croatia at the World Cup next summer, when he turns 40.

Joining Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2012, Modric has made 591 appearances for the Spanish Royal team, winning 6 Champions League titles and the Ballon d'Or in 2018. Despite his age, he still played 57 games last season, including 35 in La Liga, and was captain several times under coach Carlo Ancelotti.

While continuing to play at the top level in Milan, Modric has also begun preparing for life after retiring. In April, he bought shares in Swansea City, a club playing in the English First Division, and according to SunSport , Modric is close to completing the purchase of a £1.1 million house on the outskirts of Swansea.
