Although his eloquence and stage presence are highly regarded, few people know that in his youth Huy Cuong was very introverted and shy in front of crowds. He said that even though he sang well and drew well, he kept it to himself, let alone standing in front of many people to host a program, something he had never thought of.

The milestone marking this young man's change was his participation in local Youth Union activities, which gave Huy Cuong the opportunity to stand on stage for the first time, and from there his passion urged him to continue to devote himself to this profession.

The MC profession brings Huy Cuong choked emotions of happiness every time he stands under the stage lights. The feeling of sublimation every time he holds the mic, ready to devote all his strength, in tune with each narration, for Huy Cuong that is the moment when everything around him seems to slow down, leaving only himself and his passion for art.

Admitting that he is a difficult person, Huy Cuong believes that hosting a program is not only a job, but also helps build people.

“A true professional will see his own shortcomings and change to be worthy of standing on stage,” Huy Cuong confided. Therefore, throughout his years in the profession, he has constantly improved his knowledge and skills to become more and more perfect.

MC Huy Cuong can lead with many different styles.

The young man shared: “I am not a naturally talented person or have a natural voice, so I always tell myself to try to learn more. Most people think that MCs need to have a good voice, but that is not enough. A person's charm when standing on stage does not come from appearance or voice, but from the emotions it brings to the audience. To do that, the MC must truly understand what he is conveying. Professional factors can be trained, but the heart and ethics cannot. Therefore, when working in this profession, we must constantly learn, learning will help us change from within."

MC Huy Cuong always gives his all to every event, big or small, with his enthusiastic and dedicated hosting style. There are events that bring you a lot of emotions, especially when leading a talk show with guests who are veterans. At that time, the young man becomes a bridge between two generations, asking questions and listening to their sharing.

Having hosted a ministerial-level program with thousands of guests, those are the times when the job requires the most meticulousness, precision and concentration. To successfully host such events, Huy Cuong said, he must thoroughly research all information related to the program, script, events, and historical documents, so that he can host with emotion and understanding, not just stick to the available content.

“I remember, the inauguration event of Nguyen Thi Be Secondary School was the first program I hosted with the participation of a ministerial-level delegate. The program required formality, so I had to spend 3 days memorizing the script so as not to misread or stumble over any words.” Huy Cuong said that, in addition, the flexibility and sensitivity of the professional are the factors that bring emotions to the audience.

Although he has been quite successful in his career as a host, the multi-talented MC is still humble: “Success is a path, not a destination. I am still working hard on that journey, especially maintaining my love and respect for the profession. Not only the MC profession, but all other professions, you have to love the profession to be successful. Respect for the profession, respect for seniors, the audience, the program and respect for yourself.”

Giving advice to young people who want to pursue a career as a MC, Huy Cuong believes that to pursue this career, one needs to be open-minded and eager to learn: “Young people today have many advantages to explore their own passions and talents with the support of technology. Therefore, the important thing is to determine whether you really want to stick with it and have enough enthusiasm to pursue this career to the end. The MC profession can be completely self-taught from many sources, especially learning from seniors, try to be humble and learn as much as possible.”

Start a business from the desire to contribute

In mid-2018, Huy Cuong and a number of colleagues and partners who had accompanied him through many programs decided to delve into the path of event organization. The birth of ABC Promotion Event Organization Company is the result of the desire and aspiration to make Tay Ninh 's event organization more professional and of higher quality, as the motto of operation is "Peace of mind, assurance and quality".

At the beginning, the company encountered many difficulties due to lack of experience in business management and operation. The young director had to do almost everything from meeting customers, signing contracts to setting up and running programs... Although he did his best, he could not avoid unexpected incidents.

MC Huy Cuong always appears neat and professional on stage.

“There is a memorable memory and also a lesson for me in organizing events, which is how to cope when encountering unfavorable weather. At that time, our team had completed the construction of the stage and tent before the product introduction event, but that afternoon there was heavy rain and strong winds, so the entire stage backdrop and red carpet were covered in sand… 7-8 people had to crawl under the table to take shelter from the rain. That whole night we had to stay up all night to redo everything” - Huy Cuong said. Those busy, hard days gave him many experiences to gradually put ABC Promotion Company on track.

“Thanks to the time I spent actively working as an MC, I had the opportunity to observe how many units organized events, and from there I accumulated quite a bit of knowledge to be able to do a variety of different events. From outdoor events such as groundbreaking, ground-breaking to conferences, product launches...” - Huy Cuong said.

You confided: “In Tay Ninh, there is a concept that for big events, companies in Ho Chi Minh City or Binh Duong should be hired to do it, because they think that the capacity of companies here is not enough to meet the needs. It is these thoughts of customers that make us try harder and harder to satisfy the customers' requests, from MC and coordinator staff to technical staff, designers, scripts... Currently, in terms of potential, ABC Promotion can organize a program with more than 2,000 guests, with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.”

With coverage of large and small local programs, it can be said that ABC Promotion Event Organization Company is one of the leading companies in the field of event organization in Tay Ninh. To achieve the achievements like today, Huy Cuong and his team have made efforts to overcome many obstacles, especially during the time when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, causing event activities to be interrupted.

The young director always inspires enthusiasm in the team.

“That time was a fatal blow to companies in the event industry. We had to sit idle for almost 2 years, spending all our money without any source of income. It was very difficult to maintain the fire of faith in our colleagues in the profession. When the pandemic ended about 3 months ago, the company was almost reborn for the second time, everything got back on track with more regular contracts,” Huy Cuong said.

For this young director, business must go hand in hand with bringing value to partners and customers. And for ABC Promotion Company, that is the desire from programs and events that can help units contribute to affirming their image and brand.

“Being alive is a blessing” - Huy Cuong confided when he was on the verge of life and death during the days of being in a coma, being treated at the ICU, Provincial General Hospital due to Covid-19.

The MC has made many changes in his way of life: “For the first time in my life, I understand how impermanent life is when I am close to death, witnessing people I just met and then lost. Only through events can we understand the meaning of cherishing what we have. Facing life and death, fame and money are no longer valuable, only health is the most important.”
