Tourists can visit the symbol of the intersection of nature and technology, Gardens by the Bay, Canopy Park... when experiencing the green tourism program.
The trip is part of a cooperation program between the Singapore Tourism Board and Vietrantour travel company. Through this, the two units introduced many new tourism products, bringing Vietnamese tourists green journeys and experiences with a combination of nature conservation and modern technology.
Gardens by the Bay
Located in the heart of the city, Gardens by the Bay is a symbol of the intersection between nature and technology. With an area of over 101 hectares, this garden is a place to relax with fresh air and lush greenery, and also a place to bring many practical experiences about environmental protection.
With two of the world's largest greenhouses, the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest, it houses thousands of plant species from around the world. The Cloud Forest features the world's tallest indoor waterfall and exhibits on climate change. In addition, the Supertree Grove area has many giant trees that create beautiful landscapes, like solar power plants that help power the garden.
Canopy Park at Jewel Changi Airport complex
Coming to Jewel Changi Airport complex, visitors can visit, entertain, shop and experience Canopy Park on the 5th floor. Inspired by nature, this place has an environmentally friendly design, harmoniously combining amenities, giving visitors a fresh green space.
The park's most popular attraction is the Jewel Rain Vortex - the world's tallest indoor waterfall, surrounded by a man-made rainforest. Other areas such as the Topiary Walk and Petal Garden feature plant sculptures and vibrant floral displays, celebrating biodiversity.
Ubin Island
Pulau Ubin is just a short ferry ride from the city centre, offering a glimpse into the country's kampong (village) life.
At Chek Jawa Wetlands, one of Singapore’s richest coastal ecosystems, visitors can explore mangrove forests, mudflats and shallow coral reefs. The small island is ideal for cycling, hiking and kayaking. Pulau Ubin remains untouched with traditional wooden houses, small farms and dirt roads.
In addition to protecting nature, Singapore has also adopted many sustainable initiatives in the tourism industry such as shopping, dining and hotels. More and more stores are offering eco-friendly products such as recycled fashion, sustainable homewares; using organic ingredients and local food.
Many hotels in Singapore have also eliminated the use of plastic water bottles, replacing them with water filtration systems. In addition, these chains have implemented many energy saving, recycling and waste reduction programs.
This year, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) will continue to accompany Vietrantour to introduce and update major cultural and entertainment events in Singapore to attract more Vietnamese tourists to Singapore.
