The journey back of painter Ly Tran

For Ly Tran, holding a brush is not just a habit but a great motivation that urges her to dare to live, dare to love, and dare to express her true emotions through painting.

Taking place until June 21, the "Multicolor" exhibition is a journey back to Ly Tran's homeland, back to her purest self. More than 70 works displayed at the 29 Hang Bai Exhibition House ( Hanoi ) have introduced an overview of the female artist's creative style.

Sharing about the exhibition, Ly Tran said: "Multi-color is who I am, formed from cultural diversity, works with many different themes and materials, and also a greeting from the bottom of my heart to my homeland after many years away."

Born and raised in Vietnam, Ly Tran started painting from a young age. However, it was not until she studied industrial design in Moscow (Russian Federation) that her passion for painting arose strongly. More than 7 years of studying and researching in depth about drawing, graphics and fine arts have planted in her heart a deep love for the profession.

In the following years, Ly and her family moved to the US to settle down and pursue business. 2020 was considered a major turning point in Ly's life. She decided to put aside her role as a businesswoman and focus all her energy on returning to painting. Since then, she has continuously created and continuously released impressive paintings.

Ly's paintings have appeared in dozens of exhibitions in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Philadelphia... From basic themes of landscapes, flowers, people, to abstract content such as balance, life cycle or memory, Ly Tran has interpreted objects and phenomena through creative drawing and color mixing.

Despite having her own enthusiastic audience, Ly still struggles to find a suitable material that can fully reflect her personality. And she thought of lacquer and oil paint, which have been around for a long time among Vietnamese people.

The beauty of Ly's painting world is the unique blend between graffiti street art and traditional materials; between impressionism and expressionism; between direct, powerful expression and the vibes of a delicate soul.

The love for her homeland is also expressed by the female artist through maximizing the image of lotus flowers, recreating the ancient architecture of Hanoi or showing a dynamic Saigon with vibrant colors.

Ly's return also received positive reviews from experts. Enjoying "Multicolor", artist Tung Vy expressed: "Ly's paintings have very unique features, the layers of color overlapping each other show that the artist is highly skilled. In particular, her brushwork is extremely meticulous but no less airy".
