The delegation conducted a field survey of the facilities and healthcare system at Vinh Long General Hospital. |
During the working session, the delegation conducted a field survey of the facilities and medical equipment systems serving the examination and treatment of patients at Vinh Long General Hospital; and assessed the exploitation and use of equipment, as well as its ability to meet the healthcare needs of the people in the current situation.
According to the report, Vinh Long General Hospital has a capacity of 930 beds and more than 1,000 staff and employees. The total number of outpatient visits in 2025 is expected to reach nearly 320,000; the number of inpatients will exceed 55,700; and the bed occupancy rate will reach 96.4%, exceeding the assigned target. The hospital has performed more than 10,600 surgeries, implemented 29 new techniques, and maintained a very low inpatient mortality rate of only 0.18%;…
Besides the achievements, Vinh Long General Hospital also highlighted some difficulties and obstacles and made recommendations to the competent authorities. These included a request for the province to allocate funds to continue implementing policies on training, attracting, and retaining high-quality medical personnel; and to consider investing in, supplementing, and replacing advanced, specialized medical equipment to meet the requirements of technical development and reduce referrals to higher-level hospitals.
We propose adjusting medical service prices to accurately reflect costs; and requesting the Social Insurance agency to promptly pay outstanding health insurance medical examination and treatment expenses, thereby reducing the financial burden on the unit.
