Reasonable price

In a recent Power On newsletter, Gurman revealed that the iPhone 17 Air could start at around $899 in the US, which is similar to the price of the iPhone 16 Plus.

This makes sense, as previous rumors have suggested that the 17 Air will replace the Plus line in the upcoming iPhone lineup.

The Information previously reported that the iPhone 17 Air could cost more than the Pro Max, which currently starts at $1,199, although it won't have as many premium features as Apple's top-of-the-line Max line.

However, analyst Jeff Pu has denied this information. Mr. Pu believes that the 17 Air will be a mid-range iPhone model to replace the Plus version, so the price will not be able to surpass the iPhone Pro Max model.

A series of brilliant features

Battery life: Despite its ultra-thin and light design, Gurman says the iPhone 17 Air still has the same battery life as current iPhone models.

While no specific models are mentioned, this means battery life should be at least on par with the standard iPhone 16 — which is quite a surprise.

Previously, many were concerned that the iPhone 17 Air's ultra-thin design could limit battery capacity. However, Apple has made many hardware and software optimizations to help the device save more energy.

Three factors are said to help the iPhone 17 Air have a longer battery life than expected: a higher-density battery, providing more power in the same size; a power-saving C1 modem designed by Apple; and the lack of an ultra-wide-angle camera helps to save more space inside the device for a larger battery.

Camera Control Button: Gurman also revealed that the iPhone 17 Air will feature a Camera Control button, a feature that first appeared on the iPhone 16 series last year. The button provides quick access to the camera and related settings, but not everyone likes it and some even turn it off.

Screen bezels: The iPhone 17 Air is said to have screen bezels as thin as the iPhone 16 Pro, giving the device a more modern design.

Notable specifications: In addition to the new points, Gurman also reiterated some previously leaked information about the iPhone 17 Air, including: 6.6-inch ProMotion screen with 120Hz refresh rate; equipped with Dynamic Island; standard A19 chip instead of A19 Pro; single 48MP rear camera; C1 modem; no physical SIM slot globally...

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 series in September, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air. From now until the launch date, there will certainly be more leaked information about these new iPhone models.
