The 2025-2026 season will see Ho Chi Minh City set a record with 6 teams participating in the professional league, including Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (HCMC Police) and Becamex HCMC competing in the V-League.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also has 4 first-class representatives including newly promoted Van Hien University Club, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club, Gia Dinh FC and Ho Chi Minh City Club (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club).
Having 6 teams playing in the professional league puts a certain pressure on the facilities, specifically the home field and training field that meet the standards set by VPF. In particular, Thong Nhat Stadium promises to be lit up all week long.

With the advantage of being located right in the city center and being a familiar traditional meeting place, it is not surprising that up to 3 football teams choose Thong Nhat Stadium as their home ground.
Except for CA TP.HCM Club competing in V-League, Thong Nhat Stadium will also be the home ground of 2 representatives participating in the national first division including Ho Chi Minh City Youth Team and newly promoted Van Hien University.

This means that professional football fields in Ho Chi Minh City are very far apart. The distance from Thong Nhat Stadium to Go Dau Stadium is 32 km, which in ideal conditions would take about 1 hour. But that is still quite a long time!
The distance from Thong Nhat Stadium to Ba Ria Stadium is up to 80 km, with travel time ranging from 2 hours, even 5 hours depending on the level of traffic jams, which are a chronic problem on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 51.
But the record must be mentioned is the distance from Go Dau stadium to Ba Ria stadium, nearly 90 km long, if favorable it will take about 2.5 hours to travel, but must go through the bottleneck of National Highway 13, and if the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway is under repair, it can take up to 6 hours.
