Before the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on the afternoon of August 20 in Hanoi , young singer Duong Minh Quy introduced to the audience the MV "Vietnamese Tradition".

Young singer Duong Minh Quy introduces MV "Vietnamese Tradition"

"Vietnamese Tradition" was composed by singer and lecturer Dao Nguyen Vu (stage name Ai Nhan), based on the poem by Chi Anh, expressing the pride and patriotism of the Vietnamese people throughout the history of building and defending the country. In the song, historical sites such as Ai Chi Lang, Bach Dang Giang... are mentioned with pride.

The familiar saying in the "Hich tuong si" - the nation's eternal heroic literature expressing the determination to fight against foreign invaders and upholding the spirit and patriotism of Tran Hung Dao is performed by the male singer from Vinh Phuc through a strong opera voice, making the work more heroic and easy to feel: "I often forget to eat at mealtimes, pounding my pillow in the middle of the night, my stomach aches like it's being cut, tears streaming down my face. Only anger cannot make me tear apart the flesh, peel off the skin, eat the liver, and drink the blood of the enemy...".

The male singer born in 2001 said he loves and often seeks knowledge about national history.

Duong Minh Quy shared that he loves and often seeks knowledge about the nation's history. That is what made him feel so emotional when making the MV "Vietnamese Tradition". Through the MV, the young singer born in 2001 also wants to express his love for the country and spread that to a wide audience, especially young audiences.

The song was arranged by young musician Anh Tu (TULIC) with rockepic elements combined with traditional instruments. The innovation has created the grandeur and explosion of rock, while preserving the cultural and identity of traditional musical instruments. The interesting point lies in the contrast and harmony between the zither, flute, two-stringed fiddle, and drum, bringing a soft tone, historical depth, evoking national emotions, the color of Vietnam blending, the contrasting electric guitar but helping the smooth melodies of traditional musical instruments, creating a feeling of "modernity in classical" and the spirit of "nationality flying on the international stage".

The visual part, directed by Anh Quan, records famous landscapes and historical sites in Hanoi such as: Hoan Kiem Lake, "Thien do chieu" (a scroll 3.5 meters high, more than 8 meters wide, made of Bat Trang ceramic, copying the "Chieu doi do" of King Ly Thai To at Do Temple, Bac Ninh ).

Duong Minh Quy added that for a long time, he has always longed to one day launch a product to pay tribute to the heroes of his homeland and nation and to demonstrate the responsibility and mission of today's young generation to be grateful, remember the contributions of national heroes and spread that spirit of pride to his generation. On the occasion of the special Great Festival towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, he thought it was time for him to be mature enough to make a MV product with many messages and meanings to join the flow of national pride.

Duong Minh Quy won the gold prize at the Asia-Pacific Arts Festival held in Bali, Indonesia in 2023. The work that helped Minh Quy win spectacularly was the world-famous Aria by musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Graduated from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the singer is currently pursuing a career as a freelance artist, combining teaching vocal music. He has taught vocal music and musical instruments to thousands of students at home and abroad, including Vietnamese people currently living in Australia, Korea, the US, etc.
