(Dan Tri) - Witnessing her daughter talk about her difficult career journey, singer Cam Van burst into tears revealing that CeCe Truong had gone through a period of severe depression and had to seek psychological support from a doctor.

During the EP (extended disc) launch of Straight Curves in Ho Chi Minh City, singer CeCe Truong burst into tears when talking about her challenging career journey: "I think I've been trying for a long time. There were times when I was confused and didn't know which direction to go."

The singer said she once fell into a mental crisis, at times being so exhausted that she fainted and had to seek medical help to overcome depression.

"That time was terrible, but music once again became a place for me to release and find myself again. I write music as a way to talk to myself. This is not a product that follows trends, but the result of a sincere confrontation with myself," she shared.

In response to her daughter's sharing, singer Cam Van choked up and said: "We live in the same house but I rarely know what my daughter is thinking. CeCe is good at suppressing her emotions, so she fell into depression. There was a time when she went to Da Lat to meditate and regain balance. Later I found out that she needed the support of a psychologist.

Family is always by your side, just do what makes you happy and true to your artistic heart."

Cam Van said that she and her husband have never used their connections in the industry to support their children.

"CeCe didn't want to and I didn't want to either. I want my daughter to walk on her own strength," she said.

Straight Curves is CeCe Truong's debut EP, marking her strong transition from image to music.

The EP includes 4 songs: Thoat, Di Di, Lua Tat and Khong Con La Nguoi. Of which, 3 songs were composed by CeCe Truong herself. The compositions all come from real experiences, reflecting her process of maturing both musically and spiritually.

With this project, CeCe Truong also changed her appearance, cutting off her curly hair that she had worn for many years to appear with a short, straight hairstyle, suitable for the fresh energy she wanted to express.

The singer also plans to collaborate with many young artists to expand his musical color and increase recognition.
