
Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes said that the United Nations General Assembly will discuss and vote on draft Resolution A/80/L.6 on October 28 and 29.
According to Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, this is the 34th time Cuba has submitted a draft resolution to the United Nations General Assembly calling on the United States to lift the embargo on Cuba. Along with continuously submitting draft resolutions to the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes said that Cuba is always ready for dialogue on the basis of equality, respect for international law and national sovereignty .
On this occasion, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes conveyed the gratitude of the Cuban Party, State and people to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their consistent stance in strongly supporting efforts towards normalizing Cuba-US relations, calling on the US to lift the embargo against Cuba in the spirit of relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, for the legitimate interests of the Cuban people, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Americas and the world.
Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes emphasized that Vietnam has shown solidarity with the Cuban people not only in material terms but also in political and humanitarian aspects. Recently, the Vietnam Red Cross Society together with Vietnamese agencies and socio-political organizations launched a program to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship" within the framework of the "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year 2025", commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1960-2025).
