A serious accident occurred near Hoa Duyet station, Duc Lien commune, Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh). The train collided with a truck, causing the North-South railway line to be paralyzed. Authorities are currently working to fix the problem and investigate the cause of the incident.

Initial information, at around 8:00 a.m. on March 1, at Km358+498 on the North-South railway through Duc Lien commune, freight train SH62 (locomotive D18E-607) moving from South to North suddenly collided with a glue truck crossing the railway.

At the scene, the truck was hit from the side and pushed about 30 meters. The train's head and three cars behind it were tilted next to the mountainside. The rails were torn from their original position.

The front of the truck was badly damaged.

Dozens of workers from Nghe Tinh Railway Company were mobilized to focus on fixing the problem in order to reopen the line soon.

After the collision with the truck, the locomotive and three cars of the freight train derailed, and dozens of meters of track were lifted off the roadbed.

The serious accident caused the railway system to be exposed.

The accident injured the freight train driver. Meanwhile, the truck driver jumped out before the collision, leaving the truck lying in the middle of the tracks.

According to local witnesses, at the time, the truck was climbing the slope at the railway intersection due to lack of observation and unable to control its speed, causing an accident with the train.

Authorities quickly arrived at the scene to investigate and clarify the incident.

The overturned train cars were damaged, causing heavy damage to railway property.

Workers urgently fixed the problem.

Speaking to Dan Viet reporter, the leader of Hoa Duyet station said: "Currently, the North-South railway line through Duc Lien commune is paralyzed. The unit is focusing on mobilizing forces and means to fix it, striving to clear the line as soon as possible."
