Implementing the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" and the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children", from 2023 to present, the Technical Assurance Center has sponsored 5 children of fishermen from families with especially difficult circumstances in Ganh Hao commune, Vinh Hau commune and Chau Thoi commune, Ca Mau province.
The delegation presented gifts to the family of Ho Ngoc Yen's godson.
The Central Commissar said: Thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the policies of the Party Committee and the Head of the Military Service and Region Command, the Party Committee and the Central Command have always paid attention to, led and closely directed the adoption of fishermen's children. Although the unit is stationed far from the adoption address, every year the unit still organizes well the trips to visit and give gifts, especially on holidays and Tet, when coordinating propaganda about the sea and islands, and propaganda to attract local human resources.
Through these activities, we promptly encourage, support and help our godchildren to make more efforts in their studies. At the same time, we spread the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers" in the hearts of the people.
To make the sponsorship of fishermen's children effective, the unit regularly promotes and raises awareness among officers and soldiers about the significance of the activity. At the same time, it launches and effectively implements the model "1,000 VND to help fishermen's children go to school", in which each officer and soldier voluntarily contributes at least 1,000 VND per working day. The total amount of money raised will be used to visit and give gifts to 5 children (minimum 500,000 VND/child/month).
On this occasion, the delegation visited each house of the 5 sponsored children to encourage, visit the families and the studies and training of the 5 children, hoping that the children would continue to try hard, study well and become useful citizens for their families and society. Along with giving the 3rd quarter support money to the sponsored children, the delegation, on behalf of the officers and soldiers of the Center, gave each child 1 million VND and notebooks to prepare mentally for the new school year. At the same time, the families of the children were supported with 1 million VND each and many other essential gifts. The total value of the gifts and support money was nearly 30 million VND.
The delegation encouraged and visited the family of Che Hoang Thien's godson.
Mr. Mai Van Man, the maternal grandfather of little girl Ho Ngoc Yen, emotionally shared: "Since Yen was adopted by the unit, she has been very happy and tried harder in her studies. As an elderly grandfather like me, I feel very secure. The unit's staff also regularly visits and gives gifts. This is truly a great source of encouragement for Yen and her family."
This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; and to practically welcome the 14th Congress of the Navy Party Committee.
