Positive effects from patriotic emulation movements

The patriotic emulation movement of the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations in Truong Xuan commune, Can Tho city, with activities tailored to the local situation, has been spreading widely throughout the community, creating a positive effect. Through this, it mobilizes the strength of national unity, contributing to the construction of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas, and promoting local socio-economic development.

This has encouraged and motivated members and all strata of the people to promote the spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance, helping each other reduce poverty, competing to get rich, building a cultured lifestyle in rural areas, and actively participating in the implementation of the National Target Program for building new rural areas..."

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Truong Xuan commune has implemented many emulation movements such as "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; "Day for the poor"; "The whole country joins hands for the poor - no one should be left behind"; "Good people, good deeds"; "Skilled mass mobilization"; "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"... These movements are concretized through actions such as propagating and mobilizing people to help each other develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably; participating in environmental protection; building residential areas that ensure security and order; building cultural families; building and repairing bridges and roads; houses of great solidarity; implementing democracy at the grassroots level, ensuring the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit...

Political and social organizations all have emulation movements linked to the task of caring for the rights and interests of their members and all strata of the people. Through these movements, more and more exemplary collective and individual examples have emerged, building many models suitable to the actual conditions in the locality. For example, the Farmers' Association of the commune, with its movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty," has seen many members and farmers dare to think and act, cooperating in production, gradually breaking away from monoculture rice farming, shifting from producing 3 rice crops to producing 2 rice crops and 1 cash crop per year. In some places, they have switched to high-quality fruit orchards, bringing economic value and contributing to diversifying production and developing new industries and services in the rural economy. Some models have proven highly effective and sustainable, such as the durian cultivation model combined with rice farming and guesthouse rental in Truong Ninh 1 hamlet, generating over 5 billion VND/year; the rice cultivation and fish farming model combined with rice and agricultural supplies trading in Trung Hoa hamlet, generating over 3 billion VND/year; and the rice cultivation model combined with rice and petroleum trading in Trung Thanh hamlet, generating over 3.5 billion VND/year...

The Women's Union of the commune has a movement called "Women Helping Each Other Develop the Economy." Through this movement, many women have boldly transformed their crop and livestock structures, contributing to increased income and family economic development. Examples include the durian cultivation model in Truong Ninh A hamlet, generating over 800 million VND/year; the intercropping of apricots and durian in Truong Ninh A hamlet, generating over 600 million VND/year; the watermelon and cantaloupe cultivation model in Trung Hoa hamlet, generating approximately 600 million VND/year; and the longan cultivation model in Truong Ninh hamlet, generating over 250 million VND/year… The commune's Youth Union has movements such as "Youth Volunteers for the Community" and "Creative Youth, Entrepreneurship"… The commune's Veterans Association has a movement called "Exemplary Participation in Building the Party, Government, and Protecting Local Security and Order"...

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung from Truong Ninh hamlet, Truong Xuan commune, shared: “The patriotic emulation movement of the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations in the commune has attracted a large number of people to participate, making an important contribution to the overall development of our commune. People actively contribute labor days, donate land to open roads and build bridges to make travel more convenient and safer; plant and care for trees, maintain hygiene, and build a green, clean, and beautiful environment. In particular, through these emulation movements, many effective production models have emerged, increasing income and improving people's lives. In recent years, the locality has developed more and more, and the quality of life for the people has improved.”

These results serve as important impetus to amplify the combined strength of the patriotic emulation movement in Truong Xuan commune, allowing it to continue spreading widely and making positive contributions to the local socio-economic development. Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh stated: The Vietnam Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations in the commune will continue to innovate the content and methods of their activities, enhancing their capacity to represent the legitimate will and aspirations of the people. Simultaneously, they will strengthen their role in social supervision and criticism, participate in government building, and contribute to sustainable local development, maintaining national unity. They will effectively coordinate and organize patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, mobilizing the people's participation in socio-economic development and maintaining security and order in the locality.
