Mr. Nguyen Van Hien proactively asked for water and transported it for free for people to use, after flood waters rose high in Viet Long commune (Soc Son, Hanoi).
Currently, the water in the "flood center" area of Viet Long (Soc Son, Hanoi) has receded, and people have been provided with electricity and water since last night, September 16.
Previously, the image of Mr. Nguyen Van Hien proactively asking for water and transporting it for free to people in this area made a strong impression on everyone.
Mr. Hien once shared that all 26 households in the area where he lives lost electricity and water. "I went to ask for water to bring back for people here to use. When everyone had enough water, I stopped," he added. And just as he said, he only stopped doing this when this area had electricity and water.
Many people in Hung Phuc village, Viet Long commune were very happy to receive clean water from Mr. Hien's car.
“Uncle Hien is my neighbor. When he saw us saying we had no water for bathing, washing, or daily activities, he asked me to find him a new tarp, then he went to get water for the entire row of people living in this dike area to use,” a resident said on September 16.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hien works as a truck driver. He has a tricycle at home, so he uses it to transport and get water for free for everyone.
Previously, some hamlets in Viet Long commune were submerged in floodwaters up to 3 meters high, leaving thousands of people without electricity or clean water.
