Busy atmosphere of cleaning before the inauguration day of T3 terminal.
This is the largest domestic terminal in the country, with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year, bringing the total operating capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers.
Bustling before the inauguration day of T3 terminal
Areas such as check-in counters, security screening, baggage, jet skis, non-aviation services... are "lit up" and ready for continuous operation.
Mr. Le Anh Quoc - vice chairman of the board of directors of Taseco Air - told Tuoi Tre Online that the company's lounge and food stores at terminal T3 are ready to welcome passengers.
Terminal T3 will officially operate domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet after the peak holiday season of April 30 and May 1.
Previously, the airport tested the entire operating process to ensure smooth operations. The remaining airlines, including Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vasco and Vietravel Airlines, continued to operate at Terminal T1.
Please note which terminal the new flight operates from?
Currently, Sasco's Lotus business lounge is the only service operating at T3. A representative of Vietnam Airlines said the airline will start operating at T3 from April 19 with flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi .
From April 28, all remaining domestic flights of the airline (except for routes to Con Dao, Rach Gia and Ca Mau) will be transferred to T3. Airlines belonging to Vietnam Airlines Group such as Pacific Airlines and Vasco will still operate at T1 until further notice.
At T3, Vietnam Airlines has arranged check-in counters from 56 to 109, along with 22 self-check-in counters, to help passengers save time. The airline recommends that passengers use online check-in via the website, mobile application or kiosk at the airport, and arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure to avoid delays.
Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers carefully check the departure terminal information on their tickets and study the T3 terminal map before traveling. Arriving at the correct terminal and completing procedures early will help the journey go smoothly, especially during the transition period and peak holiday periods.
Integrated commercial and office terminal
The T3 terminal project has a total investment of nearly 11,000 billion VND, with the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) as the investor.
Construction will start at the end of 2022, with the passenger terminal construction package starting in August 2023.
After nearly two years of construction, the station was completed with a soft curved roof design, evoking the image of the Vietnamese ao dai, a symbol of grace and elegance. The interwoven roof layers create diverse views, while optimizing natural light inside the station.
The connecting transport infrastructure system, including roads and overpasses, is also being completed to synchronize with the operational time. Terminal T3 not only serves passengers but also integrates a commercial and office complex.
Terminal T3 is designed with modern, spacious space and luxurious amenities.
