Coach Kim Sang-sik criticized his students for 'not being as good as when they practiced'

Trieu Viet Hung was given his first chance to play for the Vietnamese national team under coach Kim Sang-sik in the match against Cambodia on the evening of March 19. However, he only played for less than 30 minutes and was substituted in the first half.

" I decided to change Viet Hung's position because I thought he had not performed as well as he did in practice. Viet Hung is eager to play for the national team. When Van Vi entered the field, he helped the team a lot ," coach Kim Sang-sik explained.

The former Hoang Anh Gia Lai player disappointed in the early stages of the match. He participated in many moves on the left wing of the Vietnamese team but had some bad handling situations and did not coordinate well with his teammates.

In the 28th minute, Trieu Viet Hung left the field to make way for Nguyen Van Vi. The player born in 1997 did not suffer any injuries but still had to end the match early. Afterwards, Nguyen Van Vi himself scored to raise the score to 2-0 for the Vietnamese team.

Trieu Viet Hung was born in 1997 - trained at HAGL. The player from Hai Duong was originally a central midfielder but started playing left back when he moved to Hai Phong Club. In fact, Viet Hung played very well in V.League. This is the reason why he was called up by both Mr. Troussier and Coach Kim Sang-sik in the past 2 years.

Speaking about the match, coach Kim Sang-sik said: " In the first half, I arranged for Quang Hai to play as an attacking midfielder and in the middle. As we prepared, Hai Long scored. We showed what we had practiced. In the second half, the pressure increased, we had problems in neutralizing Cambodia's attacks.

Quang Hai suffered a minor injury in the second half. When I replaced the reserve player, the Vietnamese team also had difficulty in developing the ball .

Mr. Kim Sang-sik said that he did not test many new players because the match with Cambodia was an important time to prepare for the match with Laos. Many key players are still in good physical condition and he wants to let them play.
