Coach Peter Cklamovski affirmed that he did not insult the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

"My statement was not disrespectful. If anyone felt I offended them, I apologize, but that was not my intention. And actually I did not say anything new," Mr. Cklamovski shared at a press conference before the rematch with Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on October 14.

The Malaysian national team coach has been criticized after his comments on the internal situation of the team and the process of naturalizing players, causing a stir in the country. Some people believe that he indirectly criticized the Malaysian football management system.

However, coach Cklamovski appeared calm, emphasizing that his only goal was to build a strong and united team. "I always aim to help the team progress. Everything I say comes from a sense of responsibility and good wishes for Malaysian football," he added.

Controversy erupted after coach Cklamovski mentioned the FIFA suspension of seven Malaysian naturalized players on suspicion of document fraud. In a press conference, he said: "All the problems with FIFA, administrative errors or whatever is going on, that is FAM's business."

Former player Datuk Jamal Nasir publicly criticized coach Cklamovski, saying the Australian strategist "crossed the line" when he made disrespectful statements to FAM, and called on authorities to fire him.

FAM's fake naturalization scandal is shaking Southeast Asian football, especially when FIFA officially concluded that the agency and seven naturalized players violated Article 22 of the Disciplinary Code on forgery and falsification of documents.
